Lyndsy and Jesse asked me to shoot their Fitzroy Island wedding photography two years ago. Lyndsy is a super organised person and a fabulous wedding planner! Everything was planned and booked two years ago because Lyndsy knew she would have her hands full with a baby. Lucky she was prepared and super organised as one baby turned out to be two babies – twins! Very cute boys they are too!
The weather was pretty ordinary the day of the wedding but this didn’t really worry Lyndsy and Jesse! The boat ride over from Cairns in the morning was a bit rough so myself and some of the guests were feeling a bit chucked around by the time we arrived! All good though! Once I was off the boat and my stomach returned to its normal position and not under my chin I felt much better!
Straight into bride preparation photos with Lyndsy and her bridesmaids and then down to see the boys at the ceremony location in the garden. Everything was set up nicely and all the guests were gathered and awaiting the bride’s arrival. Lyndsy was preceded down the aisle by her 3 bridesmaids and her 2 gorgeous little boys being led by their grandad and aunty. They did very well!
The ceremony was performed by Robert, a close family friend who came from the UK especially to marry Lyndsy and Jesse. It started to rain quite heavily during the ceremony though so Robert had to have a little hurry up and get to the important parts quickly! Harriet and the island events team appeared quick smart with umbrellas to cover the bride and groom and some of the guests! Before long they were pronounced Mr and Mrs and everyone cheered!
I took a group photo of everyone from the balcony of one of the rooms and then ran back downstairs to take loads of photos of Jesses and Lyndsy with their friends and family. When we finished this it was time to have a walk around the island for the bridal party portraits. We had about an hour and a half which was plenty of time in between hiding from the rain showers!
The reception was set up perfectly with a fabulous beach theme which Lyndsy had spent months preparing. So many bits and pieces and little details….it looked amazing! People ate and drank and danced and made funny and emotional speeches, shared their love with Jesse and Lyndsy and stole hugs from the two tired little boys! It continued to rain outside but nobody really noticed…….I did happen to see a couple of humpback whales in the distant ocean from the deck though!
Congratulations Jesse and Lyndsy and thank you for asking me to be your Fitzroy Island wedding photographer. It was a pleasure to be a part of and capture this special day in your lives. xx
