Maxine and Ross’ Fitzroy Island Wedding
Last weekend I had the great pleasure of shooting Maxine and Ross’ Fitzroy Island wedding photography. I caught the 11am ferry over to the island, checked in and got ready for the 4.30 wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t the best with high winds and passing showers. The decision was made to have the ceremony inside on the upstairs balcony of the function room.
It was a really relaxed and casual wedding with the boys wearing shorts and linen shirts. Maxine looked amazing in her lace gown with hair and makeup by Danielle from Cairns Wedding Makeup and Hair. She was accompanied by her bridesmaids who wore lovely summery dresses of their own choosing. The flowers were gorgeous happy sunflowers supplied by I Do Flowers.
Aphrodite Anderson performed the ceremony which included a reading from Ross’ Mum Jan. They exchanged their rings, which by the way came packaged in very cute little boxes made by Ross from lego!
Aphrodite pronounced them to be husband and wife and the deal was sealed with a kiss! With the offical paperwork complete congratulations ensued all round.
The rain had moved away by the time the ceremony was over, so we moved everyone outside for the group photo and flower petal shower. I took Maxine and Ross for a walk up the beach for some photos and very soon the sun had set and it was dark!
The reception celebration began at 7pm with Maxine and Ross’ arrival and then the cake cutting. After the main course followed speeches and then dancing! I left them all at 9.30 pm to party on into the night!
Congratulations Maxine and Ross! What a wonderful celebration your wedding day was! Thank you for asking me to be your Fitzroy Island wedding photographer, it was fun!
