Joel and Alice’s Fitzroy Island Wedding
Last weekend the weather was perfect for Alice and Joel’s Fitzroy Island wedding. I caught the boat over to the island after lunch. Joel’s Dad met me at reception, I checked in and prepared for the wedding. At 3pm I met Joel and the guests at reception ready to board the glass bottom boat to Nudey Beach, where the ceremony was to be held. Everyone boarded the boat between waves, then we motored around to Nudey Beach.
Once there we awaited the arrival of Alice, her Dad and bridesmaid. What a wonderful location for a wedding! At 4pm Adrienne Doyle performed a short and sweet ceremony and in no time at all Joel and Alice were pronounced husband and wife! Everyone made their congratulations before gathering on the beach for a group photo with Joel and Alice. It was still quite warm and sunny so we found some shade to do the family photos.
A walk along Nudey Beach and some rock climbing was in order to get some spectacular photos of Alice and Joel and their bridal party. The guests waited for us to return at around 5pm when we all boarded the glass bottom boat for the return trip back to the resort.
The gardens at the resort are very tropical, cool and shady and a great location to do some more friends and family photos. The guests then headed over to the bar and met Joel and Alice for the reception at 6pm. In the meantime we had a wander along the beach in the other direction so get some lovely sunset shots with the moored yachts bobbing about and the mountains of Cairns in the background.
I left Joel and Alice to party on with their guests and headed back to my room for the night. A burger for dinner and some telly before hitting the sack! I caught the ferry back to Cairns at 9.30 the next day.
Congratulations Alice and Joel and thank you for asking me to be your Fitzroy Island wedding photographer. It was an absolute pleasure!
