Rebecca and Matthew’s wedding at Palm Cove
Rebecca and Matthew recently asked me to be their Cairns wedding photographer at Palm Cove when they were married at Sarayi. It was during the week of rainy weather we experienced last week and so the decision was made to have the wedding on the roof top at Sarayi instead of on the beach. It was a wise decision! I love photographing weddings on that roof top! It is so white and has lots of light. The roof top is protected from the wind mostly and is surrounded by huge paperbark trees which make a fabulous backdrop.
Local celebrant, Wayne Rees performed the ceremony while family and friends from Melbourne watched on. After the ceremony, the paperwork complete, everyone congratulated the newly married Mr and Mrs! I had the guests move to a different part of the roof top for a group photo of everyone together with the bride and groom. Then, as the rain was creeping closer and closer to the beach, there was some urgency to get down there and start the photos!
The DJ for the day, Wayne, was convinced we were all going to get soaked! I convinced him otherwise! With my positive attitude ( and fingers crossed ) we hurried down to the beach! We actually managed to get all the photos finished at the jetty and at Allamanda before it started to spit with rain! We didn’t even need the brollies!
I delivered Rebecca and Matthew back to their guests in plenty of time for the celebration at the reception.
Congratulations Bec and Matt! Thank you for asking me to be your Cairns wedding photographer at Palm Cove, it was a fun afternoon!
