Jade and Luke’s “unplugged” wedding at Sheraton Mirage Resort Port Douglas
Friends and family joined Jade and Luke in celebrating their marriage last weekend under a magnificent figtree half way down the 4th green of the Sheraton Mirage Golf Course.
Jade looked stunning in her fitted gown as her Dad walked her down the aisle. She was attended by her three best friends who were wearing gorgeous, sparkley, gold, strapless dresses. Everyone wore fabulous gold shoes! Luke wore a blue suit and was flanked by “The Travises”! Not really, only two of the groomsmen were named Travis, but it was amusing to call them all Travis! ( Sorry Tom!)
The best thing about Jade and Luke’s ceremony is that it was “unplugged”. This means that all the guests were asked to switch off their phones, put away their cameras and enjoy the ceremony. As I have been photographing weddings for a really long time ( over 16 years and before social media ) most weddings used to be “unplugged”! Nobody was blocking the aisle with an I-pad photographing the bride’s arrival, taking selfies, checking Facebook or messaging during the ceremony and everyone was present for the bride and groom. It was just so lovely to see everyone eyes front, smiling, listening and enjoying the moment that Jade and Luke got married!
It wasn’t long before the wonderful Sarah Woods, celebrant, pronounced them to be husband and wife! With the paperwork all done, everyone gathered around for a big group photo under the fig tree. This was followed by family photos with the the bride and groom, before all the guests relocated poolside, while the bridal party and I had a wander around the golf course and then down to the beach, taking lots of fun photos along the way.
Thank you to Luke and Jade for asking me to be your Port Douglas Wedding Photographer and a big congratulations to you both!
