Monday found me nice and close to home at Cedar Park Resort, Kuranda, photographing Wilhelm and Masayo’s wedding. Cedar Park is surrounded by World Heritage rainforest and is the perfect place for a wedding.
Friends and family came from as far a field as Japan and Germany, gathered in this lovely rainforest setting to witness their marriage. A wallaby and her joey even made an appearance in the middle of the ceremony, much to the amazement of the international visitors! Of course, us Aussies are quite used to that sort of thing! Don’t we all have wallabies in our back yards?! (Well, actually we do as Bob and I also live in the rainforest!)
The ceremony was performed by Kay Earl and translated into Japanese by Rachel.
Family photos and then a wander around this idyllic property for some more photo opportunities and then back to the timber deck to enjoy the reception with delicious food prepared by famous chefs Marcus and Christoph!
Congratulations to Wilhelm and Masayo and thank you for asking me to be your photographer! I had a great time practicing my Japanese and German language skills! (and confusing all the guests as my language skills definitely need practice!)
Below are a couple of favorites from the day.
