When I am not photographing weddings Bob and I like to fly our microlight as often as we can!
Last weekend we flew to Cooktown! An early start on Saturday morning, 4.30am, so we could take off from Atherton at first light to catch the nice smooth air at the start of the day! We had a tail wind all the way which made it a two and a half hour flight.
We stayed the night in Cooktown, then another early start to head back to Atherton. This time we were flying into a head wind! The flight home was just over 4 hours!
The scenery is always spectacular from up there, whether we are flying the coast or traversing the spectacular mountain ranges further in-land.
The first image is taken from a beach just north of Cooktown. You can see the town in the background.
