Janene and Aaron came from Sydney to be married at the stunning and picturesque Thala Beach Lodge. The Lodge sits atop a headland over looking the ocean just South of Port Douglas.

The dust storm had actually reached us up here in Far North QLD by then, so the horizon over the ocean was not visible. It actually had a kind of misty quality about it!

Actually getting to Janene and Aaron’s wedding proved to be quite a feat for me that day! There had been an accident on the Kuranda Range Rd and it was closed for most of the day. Bob rang me to let me know. I abandoned my office and headed off earlier than planned to go “the long way round”!

The normally one hour trip ended up taking 2 and a half hours! Some how I managed to get myself blocked into a funeral procession traveling at 80km/hr for about 50kms!

The ceremony was set for 4pm, I arrived at 3.35pm! Plenty of time!

The ceremony was held on the top deck of the Ospreys restaurant. Friends from Sydney had joined Janene and Aaron for their special day. Vivian Reid performed a lovely ceremony and everything was taken care of and overseen by Angie from Dynamic Weddings. She also coordinates weddings at the Resort.

After the ceremony we had a wander around the resort for some photo opportunities and then Angie zipped us all around in a golf buggy to get some more photos at the bottom rock pool.

All in all it was a lovely afternoon and a pleasure to be part of Janene and Aaron’s special day.

Below are some of my favorite images from day. You can also check out Janene and Aaron’s on-line album to see some more!
