This is the location for Cheyenne and Keith’s wedding. A beautiful property in the shadow of Mt Bartle Fere, Queensland’s second highest mountain. I took this photo a few weeks before the wedding on a late afternoon flight over the Tablelands in our little plane. The sunset that afternoon was a flaming orange ball and quite spectacular!
The best country wedding I have been to for ages! Every little detail had been taken care of. The ceremony was held under an enormous spreading figtree, with a red carpet, paper lanterns in the tree and bales of freshly cut hay for the guests to sit on. The cattle had been moved to another paddock and Cheyenne had painstakingly removed any remnants that the cattle had left behind!
Margaret Cochrane came from Gympie to perform the ceremony. Keith and the boys wore their best Akubra hats, looking very sharp in their black vests. Cheyenne arrived at about 4.30pm looking stunning in a dress hand made by her sister Kirby. In fact, Kirby made all of the dresses, including little Summer’s, Cheyenne and Keith’s gorgeous baby girl.
After the ceremony I climbed to the top of a very tall ladder to take a group photo of all the guests gathered together under the big tree. Family photos with the bride and groom followed.
On Keith and Cheyenne’s property is a lake full of platypus! Cheyenne’s Dad drove us to the lake where I counted at least 6 platypus popping up and down while I was photographing Cheyenne and Keith!
A mad rush back up to the ceremony location to fit in a few more photos before the sun disappeared behind the mountains completely. My favorite photo is the silhouette of Cheyenne and Keith kissing.
