Port Douglas wedding Photography – Vicky and Paul at the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas on 3rd November 2011

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

Vicky and Paul came with their kids all the way from New Zealand to be married on Four Mile Beach outside the Sheraton Mirage at Port Douglas. The ceremony was at 10.30 in the morning and they could not have chosen a better day! It was warm and sunny with a slight cooling breeze. Sarah Woods performed the ceremony with myself and Melanie, the hair and make-up artist acting as witnesses.

After the ceremony we took lots of photos walking on the beach with the kids, then moved into the shade for some nice family photos together.

It was such a nice, warm and sunny day that Vicky decided that it was the perfect time to go for a swim…in her wedding dress! We walked around the pool, not all 5 acres of it, but most of it, to find a deep spot for Vicky to take the plunge….and she did! The water looked so inviting! It was hard to keep the kids out of the pool in their good clothes!

Here are two of my favorite shots from Vicky and Paul’s wedding. Congratulations to Vicky and Paul and thank you for having me as your photographer! It was fun!

Cairns wedding photography – Amanda and Ron’s Hot Air Balloon wedding on 13th October 2011

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Amanda and Ron came from Victoria to be married in a Hot Air balloon high above the Atherton Tablelands just after sunrise on a glorious, warm and sunny morning.

Wayne Rees performed their ceremony with myself and Shane the balloon pilot acting as witnesses. Once we landed in a paddock, the paperwork complete, I took some photos of Amanda and Ron with Mt Uncle in the background and with a rusty old truck parked in the paddock!

From there we headed down to Ellis Beach to finish off their photo shoot with a Trash the Dress session! Thanks for asking me to be your photographer Amanda and Ron, it was cool fun!

Here are a couple of my favorite shots from the day………

Trash the Dress with Polly and Jimmy!

Monday, June 6th, 2011

On the Monday after their wedding Polly and Jimmy had their Mum’s baby sit so they could join me for a Trash the Dress session in the afternoon.

We drove to a rainforest creek on the Tablelands where Polly and Jimmy got “trashed”!

We had a great afternoon and they were both very brave as the water was quite chilly! Thanks for “Trashing” with me Polly and Jimmy! Below are a few of my favorite shots, there are lots of favorites so if you would like to see some more go to Polly and Jimmy’s on-line album.

……..and now for the video….TRASHED!

Trash the Dress Paint War with Leanne, Rob and Angus

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

Leanne has been waiting months, almost years, to do this Trash the Dress photo shoot! The weather has just been too wet. It was Leanne’ s idea to Trash the Dress with paint. She bought all the paint and bottles. She chose great bright colours.

I can hear you asking……and yes, it really is Leanne’s wedding dress!

We met in a paddock on the Tablelands last Tuesday. We took some “before” family photos to warm up and then they got stuck into the paint war! Angus is 2 years old and had the best time! You can see the cheeky look on his face as his squirts paint at his Mum!

Below are some images from the shoot. You can see some more by visiting Leanne and Rob’s on-line album. Thanks for a great afternoon having fun Leanne, Rob and Angus!

Cairns Trash the Dress with Hayley & Justin

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Hayley and Justin were married at Palm Cove in September last year. When they booked their wedding photography they took advantage of our special offer to include Trash the Dress.

We had the best time doing photos at their wedding, so I knew that a Trash session with these guys would be heaps of fun! Since the wedding Hayley and Justin have moved away from Cairns. They chose last weekend to come back for their Trash session. They could not have had better timing! The weather was just perfect with big blue skies and not much wind.

We met at 9am, then traveled in convoy via a very bumpy dirt road to our waterfall location.

My friend Dee came along for the walk and to shoot some video. So standby for the video a bit later!

A 20 minute hike up to the water fall lookout got us all hot and sweaty! Hayley and Justin changed into their wedding clothes in the alfresco change room and off we went!

Hayley and Justin were game for anything which made my job heaps easier! We explored around the waterfall, creek and forest using different back drops. I love the texture of the huge basalt rocks we used for back grounds! Finally, we ended up at the second pool below the waterfall. By the time I had worked Hayley and Justin up into a sweat climbing over, up and down rocks, they were so ready to jump into the cool, crystal clear water!

The water flows over a rock ledge to the bottom pool giving the appearance of a natural wet edge pool. Hayley and Justin swam over to the edge and stood on top of it. My favorite photo is of Hayley standing on her own on the edge of the pool.

Once the photo shoot was over we all jumped in to cool off and enjoy the scenery surrounding us.

Below are a few of my favs from the day, you can see more of Trash the Dress with Hayley and Justin at their on-line album.
