Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Lauren and Luke on Green Island on the 11th November 2010.

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

I recently had the honour of photographing Lauren and Luke’s wedding on Green Island. The day before the wedding it was pouring with rain! Vivian, Lauren and Luke’s celebrant, Danielle and Sue from Cairns Wedding Make-up and I boarded the boat to Green Island at 12.30 the day of the wedding. 45 minutes later we arrived on the tropical island just off the coast of Cairns. It was a glorious day! Not a rain cloud in sight, very little wind and lots of sunshine!

We said a quick hello to Lauren at reception before being shown to our rooms. Vivian and I had to stay the night on the island as the last boat back to Cairns leaves at 4.30. The ceremony was planned for 4.15pm. I went to Laurens room at 3.30. Her hair and make-up was just about finished. I helped Lauren into her gorgeous dress, she looked stunning! As the bungalows on the island are under a canopy of trees there is not a lot of natural light to work with in the rooms. It was a bit of a challenge! I took some photos of Lauren on her own and with her parents on the verandah. Then I headed over to the the ceremony location on the eastern side of the island to meet Luke and take some photos of him before Lauren arrived.

Lauren’s Dad walked her down the tree lined timber walkway to the beach and gave her hand in marriage to Luke. Vivian performed a lovely ceremony with Luke’s younger sister as the ring bearer. The paperwork complete, Luke and Lauren were pronounced Mr and Mrs! I gathered everyone around for a group photo with Lauren and Luke, the calm blue ocean and a couple of moored yachts made a perfect background!

Shortly after photos with Lauren and Luke, friends and family wandered over to the jetty for welcome drinks and the fish feeding session while we headed off around the island for a photo shoot.

Below are a few of my favorite images from the day. Actually there were too many favorites to choose from! I really enjoyed photographing Lauren and Luke on their special day. They were really easy to photograph and open to ideas! My absolute favorite is the second last one on the rocks!

Thank you for asking me to be you photographer Lauren and Luke, it was my pleasure! Best wishes for a long and happy future together!

Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Nicole and Heath on 6th November 2010

Friday, November 19th, 2010

Nicole and Heath traveled from Victoria to have their wedding at the stylish Sebel Cairns Hotel in the city. The ceremony was held upstairs next to the pool deck in the wedding gazebo. Close friends and family gathered to witness Nicole and Heath exchange wedding vows and rings in a ceremony performed by Wayne Rees.

After the ceremony I took a group photo of Nicole and Heath with all of their guests followed by family photos. We then headed down to the hotel foyer for some photos before jumping in the cars and driving over to the Pier and Marina. We went for a wander along the figtree lined path towards the marina, taking photos along the way. At the marina I shot some images of Nicole and Heath and their bridal party with the mountain range and moored yachts for a a backdrop. We also managed to get a couple of great sunset shots shortly before the sun disappeared behind the city skyline.

Back to the Hotel, Nicole and Heath joined their guests in celebrating their marriage with the reception up stairs right next to the pool.

The weather was great on the day and it was fun! Thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer Nicole and Heath, it was a pleasure!

Below are a few of my favorite images from the day. You might like to check out Nicole and Heath’s on-line album to see some more.

Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Mandy and Jeremy on 16th July 2010

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Mandy and Jeremy came to Cairns from Brisbane for a small, relaxed tropical wedding with their 5 kids and close friends.

The location for their wedding was The Lakes Resort. The weather had been a bit yucky the few days before, but on the day it turned out to be quite nice. A little overcast but not raining!

The ceremony was performed by Elaine Charlton and held at 3.30pm on the sandy shore of one of the many pools around the Resort.

After the ceremony we did some family photos with all the kids together and individually. The boys could barely contain themselves during the photo shoot and as soon as it was finished they all charged the pool and dived in fully clothed!

With the kids kept entertained at the pool,  Mandy, Jeremy and I headed off for a wander around the Resort to take some more photos. I love the style of the resort with all the colours and textures and tropical gardens.

Below are a few of my favorites from the day. To see more images please check out Mandy and Jeremy’s on-line album.

Thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer Mandy and Jeremy, it was my pleasure and the kids made it fun too!
