Port Douglas wedding photography – Lani and Nathan’s wedding at Sea Temple Resort and Spa Port Douglas

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

Lani and Nathan’s couldn’t have chosen a nicer day to get married on four mile beach at Sea Temple Resort on the 16th October. The afternoon before we had big storms with lots of rain, but it all stayed away for Lani and Nathan’s wedding!

Sarah Woods performed a lovely ceremony which included readings from Nathan’s sister and Lani’s Dad. A group photo on the beach was followed by photos of family and friends with Lani and Nathan.

I took photos of Lani and Nathan on the beach, with some cartwheels performed by Nathans and his brother Aaron! Down to the sugar wharf for some photos as the sun was setting before heading back to Sea Temple for the reception.

Below are a few of my favorite images from Lani and Nathans’ wedding day. To see more photos check out their on-line album.

Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Kristy-Lee and Troy on 7th June 2011

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

Another glorious day for Kristy-Lee and Troy’s wedding on Green Island. Thank goodness, as I am not very good on boats! I caught the 1.pm Great Adventures boat to Green Island with Vivian, the celebrant, arriving with plenty of time before the wedding.

We bumped into Kristy from Blush Hair and Make-up waiting to catch the next boat back to Cairns! We had a quick cold drink before heading down to say hello to Troy and then onto Kristy-Lee in her room. Vivian did the paper work then I helped Kristy-Lee get into her amazing dress! Kristy from Blush had done a fabulous job on Kristy-Lee’s hair and make-up and she looked stunning!

Kristy-Lee and Troy had eloped from Tassie, so their wedding was very small and intimate. They were also enjoying our toasty warm winter weather! Vivian performed a lovely ceremony on the boardwalk on the eastern side of the island and before they knew it they were husband and wife! We took some photos on the beach and the boardwalk and then headed over to the western side of the island where there was less wind! We were out on the beach when next thing we heard the horn blast for the last boat! I took a few more shots, packed up my gear, bid farewell and congratulations to Kristy-Lee and Troy and high tailed it back to the jetty! I made it! Phew!

Kristy-Lee and Troy, thank you for asking me to be your photographer for your special day on this tropical island in North Queensland, it was fun and a great pleasure! Below are a few of my favorite shots from the day. You can also check out Kristy-Lee and Troy’s on-line album to see some more photos from their wedding day.

Palm Cove Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Polly and Jimmy on 20th May 2011

Monday, May 30th, 2011

Polly and Jimmy and their gorgeous little girl Annie came all the way from the cold of ACT to our warm sunny climate to have their wedding ceremony at the Sea Temple Resort and Spa at Palm Cove.

Polly looked stunning in her gown with her hair and make-up by Blush Hair and Make-up. Annie wore an emerald green dress and was very cute! Polly carried a very cool bouquet! Her friend Jessica made the bouquet from heaps of brooches and it was awesome! The best thing I have seen at a wedding for ages!

Polly and Jimmy’s parents and a few friends joined them for their ceremony performed by Leisel from Our Ceremony on the deck near the beach at Sea Temple. A group photo after the ceremony then a few couple shots with the bride and groom before we all piled into two stretch limo’s waiting for us outside the Resort. Rob and Peter from Cairns Luxury Limousines then drove us all down to the jetty at Palm Cove where we had a wander around the beach taking more photos of Polly and Jimmy and everyone else!

I had such a lovely afternoon! Thank you Polly and Jimmy for asking me to be your photographer! Below are some of my favorite shots from their wedding day. If you would like to see more please go to Polly and Jimmy’s on-line album.

Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Jess and David on 30th April 2011

Sunday, May 8th, 2011

Jess and David had glorious weather for their wedding at the Oasis Novatel Resort on the 30th April. The ceremony was held by the pool at the Resort at 3.30 pm and was performed by Gina Miles.

A group photo was followed by family photos in a shady spot by the pool before we had a stroll around the resort for some photos in the lush tropical gardens and then on the hotel forecourt for photos with the stretch limo. Everyone jumped in the car and we headed to the reception at David and Jess’ home. Along the way we stopped for some photos in a cane paddock. The light was beautiful and the bridal party was keen to have some fun!

A few quick shots inside the marque which had been erected in Jess and David’s backyard, before I left them to enjoy their wedding celebration with all of their guests.

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Jess and David, it was a fun day!

Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Michelle and Joseph on 2nd March 2011

Monday, March 7th, 2011

Michelle and Joseph came all the way from the UK to be married on a warm, sunny beach in tropical North Queensland. This scenario was looking increasingly unlikely the closer their wedding day came! In the month leading up to the day, Tropical Cyclone Yasi paid us a visit leaving a trail of destruction behind her.  To top it off, 1 metre of rain fell in the Cairns and Far North area!  I met Michelle and Joseph the day before the wedding to go over the “rain plan”. The morning of their wedding was heavy rain followed by overcast skies. By lunch time the sun was shining and the sky was blue!

Michelle and Joseph were accompanied by two friends from the UK who witnessed their marriage under a big tree, ocean side at Holloways Beach on this glorious, if a little warm for our Northern Hemisphere friends, summer day! Vivian Reid performed a lovely ceremony which lasted around 20 minutes. Across the bay we could see a big storm cloud and rain showers heading our way, so straight after the ceremony we ran swiftly down to the beach to capture the moment before it was once again shrouded in rain! We even had time for some photos in the gardens of the resort where Joseph and Michelle were staying.

Thank you for asking me to be a part of your special day here in cairns Michelle and Joseph! It was certainly my pleasure and I am so pleased that the weather was kind to you! I wish you all the best for a long, happy and adventure filled life together!

Below are some of my favorite images from Michelle and Joseph’s wedding day. You may like to see more photos at their on-line album.

Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Hayley and Dean on 11th December 2010

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Hayley and Dean had a beautiful day for their wedding at the Kuranda Resort nestled in the rainforest at Kuranda. I arrived early to photograph Hayley and the girls getting ready in one of the cabins at the Resort. We took some photos of Hayley on her own, Hayley and the girls and Hayley with her family. I then headed up to the pool to meet Dean and photograph him and the boys awaiting Hayley’s arrival.

Hayley looked radiant as she was walked down the aisle, alongside the pool, by her Dad. Friends and family gathered around to witness Hayley and Dean’s ceremony performed by Marion Reid as they stood on a really big rock jutting out over the pool. The paperwork complete, Hayley and Dean were congratulated by their guests before we moved to a nice shady place to take the family and friends photos with Hayley and Dean. After that we had a wander around the Resort for some rainforesty photos by the pool.

We then all piled into our cars and headed down to the Kuranda Railway station for some more photos! We were lucky enough to have the Savanahlander railmotor stop at the station while we were there. The driver was quite happy to let us have photos with it too! We also walked over the bridge and down to the lovely grassy park by the Barron River. Just as we were winding things up, it started to sprinkle with rain, so one more wedding photo shoot finished just in time!

Below are a few favorites from the day, you may also like to check out Hayley and Dean’s on-line album. Thank you for having me photograph your wedding day Hayley and Dean, it was fun!

Palm Cove Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Deb and Mark on 18th November 2010

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

Deb and Mark enjoyed a lovely small and intimate ceremony inside the Angsana Resort Chapel at Palm Cove. They were joined by four friends and two gorgeous little girls! One of them being their daughter, Charlotte. Charlotte is a happy, chatty and bouncy little girl and a joy to have around! She had two of Mark’s mates keeping her entertained on the beach while we took the photos!

Gayle Dean performed the marriage, which included a wine ceremony. After the ceremony we took assorted photos outside the chapel with Deb and Mark and their friends. Then we headed out to the Esplanade and the picturesque avenue of palm trees where we took some photos before moving down onto the beach.

Deb and Mark, thank you for asking me to be your photographer…it was a real pleasure! I enjoyed being part of this special day in your lives.
