Palm Cove wedding Photography – Sam and Matt’s wedding at Paradise Palms Resort Palm Cove

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Sam and Matt were married on the 27th August on the golf course at Paradise Palms Country Club and Resort.

Friends and family witnessed the ceremony performed by Carla Papas. Sam looked stunning as she was walked down the aisle by her Dad. Sam’s three sisters and Matt’s daughter Kayla,  made gorgeous bridesmaids and had fun doing it! Sam and Matt’s daughter Chloe was just the cutest thing ever in her little dress and pig tails!

After the ceremony, just as everyone was about to gather for the flower shower and group photos, the skies opened up and showered us with the just a sprinkle of rain! It didn’t last long and we continued on with the family photos anyway!

We all piled into golf buggies for a tour around the golf course with the bridal party for photos. Jennifer from MOD video’s joined me in a buggy and captured the action as we zipped around the holes, dodging golfers in their buggies!

I left everyone shortly after to enjoy their reception, also at Paradise Palms.

I really enjoyed photographing your wedding Matt and Sam, so thank you for asking me to be your photographer!

Below are a few of my favorite photos and a video of highlights of Sam and Matt’s wedding day. You may also like to check out their on-line album to see some more.

Palm Cove Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Andy and Pailin on the 30th January 2011

Friday, February 11th, 2011

Andy and Pailin had a lovely intimate wedding ceremony at 10.30 on Sunday morning at Paradise Palms Country Club. It was a warm sunny morning as Andy and the guests made their way from the Club House to the ceremony location on the golf course.

Pailin and Megan, Andy’s daughter, arrived around 10.30 via golf buggies! Pailin looked stunning, carrying a bouquet of white frangipanis. Pailin was walked down the aisle to her waiting husband to be, on the arm of Andy’s son Oliver. A very important job for Oliver and he did it well! Megan tossed rose petals along the red carpet as Pailin and Oliver walked.

Jan Defferrard performed a really lovely ceremony which took around 20 minutes. Andy and Pailin signed the paper work to make it all official then Jan did the formal presentation of the new Mr and Mrs to their guest. I took a group photo of all their guests surrounding Andy and Pailing, then we moved to a shady spot to take individual photos with the guests. A short walk around the golf course for some photos of just Andy and Pailing before they headed off to their reception of a delicious Thai lunch at a friends place.

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Andy and Pailing. I enjoyed being part of your special day! Best wishes for a long and happy future together!

Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Jodie and Jeff on 4th December 2010

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

Jeff and Jodie were married at 3pm at the Blue Horizon Chapel at the Hilton Cairns on the 4th December. What a perfect day for a wedding! Blue skies, no rain and lots of sunshine!

Jodie looked absolutely stunning! Jeff wasn’t allowed to look out the window of the Chapel as Jodie was walked in by her Dad. Jodie and Jeff’s ceremony was performed by Leisel Pisani from Our Ceremony and included a naming ceremony for their gorgeous little girl, Lara.

A group photo on the grass outside the chapel followed the ceremony then we all moved indoors to take the family photos in the cool of the air conditioning! The foyer of the Hilton was a lovely cool location with a gigantic Christmas tree and a great big funky lounge to take the photos on! Just as we finished taking the photos Robert from Cairns Luxury Limousines arrived with the Superstretch limousine to whisk Jodie and Jeff away to Palm Cove for their photo session and reception at Paradise Palms.

When they arrived, Jeff and Jodie transferred from the stretch limo into the waiting tiny little golf buggies! We all piled into the other buggies and took a spin around the golf course, shooting photos along the way. My favorite location at the Paradise Palms Golf course is always the stone bridge. Some photos there and on the other side of the course and we were back right on time for the start of the reception.

I couldn’t resist taking a photo of Jodie and Jeff’s really cool cake! Another masterpiece by Leanne Rosetto!

Below are a few of my favorite images from Jodie and Jeff’s wedding day. You might also like to have a look at their on-line album of photos.

Thank you for asking me to capture this special day for you Jodie and Jeff. It was my pleasure and lot of fun too!

Cairns wedding photography – The wedding of Emma and Rowan on 16th October 2010

Monday, October 25th, 2010

Emma and Rowan’s wedding was held at Paradise Palms Resort and Country Club at Palm Cove. I met Emma and Rowan at Sherry and Brent’s wedding in August. Rowan was bestman for Brent. Brent and Sherry were both in Emma and Rowan bridal party.

I arrived to start Emma’s getting ready photos at 2pm. The girls were all dressed looking lovely and relaxed and ready to go when I got there. Emma’s Mum did a quick ironing job on the wedding dress before the girls helped her to put it on. Followed by shoes and jewellery. All dressed and ready to go, Emma looked gorgeous! I took some photos of Emma on her own and then with the girls and her Mum, Dad and two brothers. Angie, the wedding co-ordinator, called about an hour before the ceremony to let Emma know that, due to rain, the ceremony would have to be held undercover upstairs on the balcony inside the club house. It was disappointing to have the ceremony inside but with hindsight a good idea as we would have gotten quite wet if it had have been held outside!

Friends and family gathered to witness the marriage of Emma and Rowan in a lovely ceremony performed by celebrant Gaye Dean. Emma’s brother read a poem to them, they exchanged rings and then they were husband and wife! After the ceremony the paper work was completed and then everyone moved outside to the forecourt entrance of the club house. It is a large undercover area out of the weather and a perfect place for a group photo. We continued on with the family and friends photos before starting on the bridal party photo shoot. By this time it was bucketing down with rain. Angie had arranged for the golf carts to take us around the golf course, but as there were no golf umbrella’s available to keep the entire bridal party dry, we took some photos around the entrance and inside the foyer until the rain eased. Heavy rain is always a challenge for a wedding photographer to find suitable indoor photo locations with the right lighting and backgrounds. I met the challenge and I love the photo of Emma and Rowan in silhouette at the top of the stair case!

We did manage to get out onto the golf course for a few quick shots on the stone bridge before the rain arrived again! I took some photos of Emma and Rowan’s reception room, their wedding cake and a mock cake cutting before I left them to get on with celebrating their wedding day with family and friends.

Thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer Emma and Rowan, it was my pleasure!

Below are a few of my favorite images form the day.You can view Emma and Rowan’s on-line album to see some more.

Palm Cove wedding photography – The Wedding of Natalie and Daniel on 18th September 2010

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Natalie and Daniel chose to have their wedding ceremony and reception at Paradise Palms Resort and Country Club. It really is the perfect location with everything all in the one place.

Natalie and her sisters aka bridesmaids,  got ready at the Resort Hotel right next door to the club house. When I arrived at the room the girls were just about ready to go! They had been into Cairns to have their hair and make-up done by Blondies at their salon and were back in plenty of time. Stress levels were low and the girls were enjoying a glass of champagne, while Ally, the gorgeous and cheeky flower girl, contented herself with cartoons on the tele!

I took some photos of Nat’s dress, flowers, shoes and jewellery. Zoe and Tamsin helped Nat get into her dress. Natalie was stunning! Looking as though she had just stepped from the pages of a bridal magazine!  We got on with taking some photos of Nat, then Nat with all the girls. Nat’s parents arrived shortly after ready for photos with Nat. We finished in plenty of time for me to get over to the boys to take some shots of them before the girls arrived.

The past few weddings I have photographed at the golf course this year it has been raining and we have had to have the ceremony indoors. Not today….there were a few clouds hanging on top of the mountain but the sky was relatively clear. The ceremony was held outside under the timber, Bali style gazebo. Daniel and his brother, Scott were greeting their guest as they arrived. I took a few quick shots of them before the guests started to gather for the ceremony.

Natalie arrived in a golf cart escorted by her Dad. Zoe and Tamsin bought Ally along in another golf cart. The girls alighted and while we took a few quick photos Ally decided it might be nice to take the golf cart for a drive on her own! Luckily there was another golf cart in front of hers so she didn’t get far!

A lovely ceremony was performed by Vivian Reid, with a reading by Daniel’s sister. After the ceremony the paperwork was completed and Vivian introduced the new Mr and Mrs! Congratulations all round was followed by a group photo with all the guests and then individual family photos with Nat and Daniel.

Katie, the wedding supervisor, arranged some golf carts and a very helpful guide for us for the photo tour of the golf course. First stop was the 7th hole on top of the hill! The view from up there is pretty cool! We continued on around the course dodging golf players and their carts. We ended up back at the clubhouse in plenty of time for everyone to freshen up and get ready for the reception. That’s where I left Nat and Daniel to head up stairs to the celebrations and a great night ahead.

Thank you for having me as your photographer for this special day in your lives Natalie and Daniel. It was a lot of fun! You guys were all really easy to photograph! Below are some of my favorite images from the day. You can see some more at Natalie and Daniel’s on-line album.

Palm Cove wedding photography – The Wedding of Amy and Liam on 2nd July 2010

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

My first wedding back from holidays and I was ready and raring to get into it! Amy and Liam were quite casual about everything and not too stressed about this whole wedding thing! Always a good way to be!

Paradise Palms is a great place to have a wedding. You can get ready, get married and get fed all at the same place without leaving the property!

Amy and the girls got ready at the new Paradise Palms Resort. The weather was touch and go for the week before and that morning was overcast and raining. When I arrived, Amy was having the finishing touches put on her make-up and the girls were just about done with their hair. When they were done I asked the girls to help Amy put on her dress. It was a dress with a lace up back. Linda, who did the girls hair, also happens to work in the shop that Amy bought the dress from! It was decided that she was the person best qualified to do up the dress! It took Linda no time at all to whip the dress into place and we got on with taking some photos of Amy and Amy and the girls together. Linda also did a fab job on the girls hair!

With all the photos complete I left the girls and headed over to the Golf Club to meet the boys and take some photos of them awaiting Amy’s arrival. It was decided that due to the possibility of rain the ceremony would be held in the room up stairs over looking the golf course. I met Liam and the boys and rushed them outside for some photos. Shortly after Amy and her Dad, followed by her bridesmaids arrived in golf buggies!

Vivian Reid performed a lovely ceremony with readings from Liam’s Mum and sister. After the ceremony, the paperwork was completed and everyone congratulated the newly married Mr and Mrs!

I managed to direct all the guests outside to the entrance staircase for a group photo with the bride and groom. After that we moved onto the driveway for photos with family and friends.

Angie, the fabulous wedding coordinator at Paradise Palms, had organised golf buggies for the bridal party and myself and Angie’s assistant, Katey. The weather held out and we went for a photo tour around the golf course.

Katey drove us all over the golf course to all the best places! She is so helpful and nothing is too much trouble! Katey really makes my job of taking photos on the day easy!

First stop was the hole over looking the entire golf course. It’s quite a spectacular view from up there! We continued on to the magnificent stone bridge for some photos of Amy and Liam with the club house in the background, always one of my favorite photos to take at Paradise Palms.

The photo tour over, we zoomed back to the club house, said my good byes and I left Amy and Liam and their bridal party to join their guests for a an evening of celebration.

Thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer Amy and Liam. It was a fun day and I enjoyed being part of it.

Below are a few of my favorite pics from the day. You can see more of Amy and Liam’s images at their on-line album.
