My very last wedding for 2011……..Debbie and David came all the way from the UK with their three gorgeous children to renew their vows on the beach outside Sea Temple Resort at Palm Cove. They had originally booked to have the ceremony on the Friday but the weather was pretty horrible with lots of heavy rain, so we all agreed to change the day to Saturday…New Year’s Eve!
Saturday was lovely and sunny with blue skies…phew! Jan Defferard performed the ceremony with Fran and David from Palm Cove weddings, along with Debbie and David’s children, acting as witnesses. Debbie looked stunning in her latte coloured wedding gown. She actually owns a bridal shop in the UK and so had the pick of dresses for her special day!
A fun photo shoot on the beach and around the resort followed the ceremony. It was a really lovely and fun afternoon. Congratulations to Debbie and David and thank you for asking me to be part of this special day for you all here in sunny North Queensland, it was my pleasure!
Below is a lovely photo of Debbie and David taken in front of the Resort.
Lauren and Shane were married at Palm Cove on the 30th September 2011. You can see their story here. I recently received this lovely email from Lauren;
Hi Tracey,The photos look amazing. I was so excited to receive your text while I was away and then to see the photos…… I was speechless. I could not have been more excited or happy with them. I don’t know what else to say except thank you. I would shout from the top of the Angsana to everyone who was listening that if they’re planning on getting married, to use you as their photographer.
The whole day, to be honest, was perfect and I owe a lot of that to you. My whole family were so rapt with you and couldn’t speak highly enough of you and your services so from the bottom of my heart, truly thank you for everything you did for us on the day.
A small intimate gathering with a few family and friends, Lauren and Shane were married outside the Angsana Chapel at Palm Cove. Barbie Anderson performed a lovely ceremony which included readings from both the bride’s and the grooms’ brothers. A group photo with everyone afterwards and then photos of family and friends with Lauren and Shane.
Some photos on the beach in front of Angsana then we headed down to the Palm Cove jetty for some more fun and photos!
Back at Angsana we did the mock cake cutting photos then I left Shane and Lauren to enjoy their wedding celebrations with their guests at the reception which was held inside the Angsana Chapel.
I love the warm tone to Lauren and Shane’s photos. We have had a lot of bushfires on the Atherton Tablelands and surrounds, combined with northerly winds there was a pall of smoke haze hanging around diffusing the light from the sun, giving this lovely warm effect to the photos. Last Saturday Scott and Emma were joined by their gorgeous baby girl and around 24 guests to be married over looking Palm Cove at luxurious Sapphire Ridge.
It had rained most of the day. The ceremony was to be held at 3pm on the timber deck with the ocean as a beautiful backdrop, but due to the rain it was decided to have it undercover inside the house. Luckily, Emma was running a little, as by 3.30 the sun was shining, the deck was quickly mopped and all was prepared for the ceremony on the deck!
Scott’s best-man sang and played guitar as Emma arrived on the arm of her Dad, who had traveled all the way from England! Leisel from Our Ceremony performed a lovely ceremony which included a reading from Scott’s Mum Deb. A group photo and family photos with the bride and groom on the deck followed the ceremony. The house is surrounded by rainforest and lovely gardens, so we took some photos around there and then headed down to Palm Cove beach for some more photos.
Thank you for asking me to share and capture this special day in your lives Scott and Emma, it was heaps of fun!
Below is a video of highlights from Scott and Emma’s wedding day.
Polly and Jimmy and their gorgeous little girl Annie came all the way from the cold of ACT to our warm sunny climate to have their wedding ceremony at the Sea Temple Resort and Spa at Palm Cove.
Polly looked stunning in her gown with her hair and make-up by Blush Hair and Make-up. Annie wore an emerald green dress and was very cute! Polly carried a very cool bouquet! Her friend Jessica made the bouquet from heaps of brooches and it was awesome! The best thing I have seen at a wedding for ages!
Polly and Jimmy’s parents and a few friends joined them for their ceremony performed by Leisel from Our Ceremony on the deck near the beach at Sea Temple. A group photo after the ceremony then a few couple shots with the bride and groom before we all piled into two stretch limo’s waiting for us outside the Resort. Rob and Peter from Cairns Luxury Limousines then drove us all down to the jetty at Palm Cove where we had a wander around the beach taking more photos of Polly and Jimmy and everyone else!
I had such a lovely afternoon! Thank you Polly and Jimmy for asking me to be your photographer! Below are some of my favorite shots from their wedding day. If you would like to see more please go to Polly and Jimmy’s on-line album.
What a stunning day it turned out to be for Samantha and Brendan last Wednesday! A small intimate ceremony, performed by Eloise Barker-Re and witnessed by close family and friends on the beach at Palm Cove. Samantha arrived with her Dad, glowing with happiness and excitement! After the ceremony we took some photos with family and friends and then Samantha and Brendan had a wander around the beach and clambered over the rocks while I burned up some pixels!
When we had finished the photo shoot everyone climbed aboard the Millaa Millaa bus for the return journey up the hill for the reception. Below are a few of my favorites from Brendan and Samantha’s wedding day. Check out their on-line album for more images from the day. Thank you for having me as your photographer Brendan and Samantha, it was a fun and relaxed afternoon!
Shirley and Oliver came all the way from very cold Germany to be married on Palm Cove Beach. It rained mostly the day before with storms in the morning, but by the afternoon it was absolutely glorious! We had a big blue sky, some fluffy white clouds and a slight breeze to keep us cool!
Wayne Rees performed the ceremony for Shirley and Oliver. Wayne’s daughter and I were witnesses to the marriage. Afterward a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate a toast to the newly married couple! The wine finished, we headed down to the beach for some photos with Shirley and Oliver. we also had a walk around the palm tree lines esplanade in front of Angsana Resort, then drove up to the Northern end of Palm Cove beach where we clambered around the rocks for some different and interesting backgrounds to the photos.
Thank you Shirley and Oliver for asking me to share and capture this special day in your lives, it was fun! Herzlichen Gluckwunsch an euch beide!

Jeff and Jodie were married at 3pm at the Blue Horizon Chapel at the Hilton Cairns on the 4th December. What a perfect day for a wedding! Blue skies, no rain and lots of sunshine!
Jodie looked absolutely stunning! Jeff wasn’t allowed to look out the window of the Chapel as Jodie was walked in by her Dad. Jodie and Jeff’s ceremony was performed by Leisel Pisani from Our Ceremony and included a naming ceremony for their gorgeous little girl, Lara.
A group photo on the grass outside the chapel followed the ceremony then we all moved indoors to take the family photos in the cool of the air conditioning! The foyer of the Hilton was a lovely cool location with a gigantic Christmas tree and a great big funky lounge to take the photos on! Just as we finished taking the photos Robert from Cairns Luxury Limousines arrived with the Superstretch limousine to whisk Jodie and Jeff away to Palm Cove for their photo session and reception at Paradise Palms.
When they arrived, Jeff and Jodie transferred from the stretch limo into the waiting tiny little golf buggies! We all piled into the other buggies and took a spin around the golf course, shooting photos along the way. My favorite location at the Paradise Palms Golf course is always the stone bridge. Some photos there and on the other side of the course and we were back right on time for the start of the reception.
I couldn’t resist taking a photo of Jodie and Jeff’s really cool cake! Another masterpiece by Leanne Rosetto!
Below are a few of my favorite images from Jodie and Jeff’s wedding day. You might also like to have a look at their on-line album of photos.
Thank you for asking me to capture this special day for you Jodie and Jeff. It was my pleasure and lot of fun too!
Emma and Rowan’s wedding was held at Paradise Palms Resort and Country Club at Palm Cove. I met Emma and Rowan at Sherry and Brent’s wedding in August. Rowan was bestman for Brent. Brent and Sherry were both in Emma and Rowan bridal party.
I arrived to start Emma’s getting ready photos at 2pm. The girls were all dressed looking lovely and relaxed and ready to go when I got there. Emma’s Mum did a quick ironing job on the wedding dress before the girls helped her to put it on. Followed by shoes and jewellery. All dressed and ready to go, Emma looked gorgeous! I took some photos of Emma on her own and then with the girls and her Mum, Dad and two brothers. Angie, the wedding co-ordinator, called about an hour before the ceremony to let Emma know that, due to rain, the ceremony would have to be held undercover upstairs on the balcony inside the club house. It was disappointing to have the ceremony inside but with hindsight a good idea as we would have gotten quite wet if it had have been held outside!
Friends and family gathered to witness the marriage of Emma and Rowan in a lovely ceremony performed by celebrant Gaye Dean. Emma’s brother read a poem to them, they exchanged rings and then they were husband and wife! After the ceremony the paper work was completed and then everyone moved outside to the forecourt entrance of the club house. It is a large undercover area out of the weather and a perfect place for a group photo. We continued on with the family and friends photos before starting on the bridal party photo shoot. By this time it was bucketing down with rain. Angie had arranged for the golf carts to take us around the golf course, but as there were no golf umbrella’s available to keep the entire bridal party dry, we took some photos around the entrance and inside the foyer until the rain eased. Heavy rain is always a challenge for a wedding photographer to find suitable indoor photo locations with the right lighting and backgrounds. I met the challenge and I love the photo of Emma and Rowan in silhouette at the top of the stair case!
We did manage to get out onto the golf course for a few quick shots on the stone bridge before the rain arrived again! I took some photos of Emma and Rowan’s reception room, their wedding cake and a mock cake cutting before I left them to get on with celebrating their wedding day with family and friends.
Thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer Emma and Rowan, it was my pleasure!
Below are a few of my favorite images form the day.You can view Emma and Rowan’s on-line album to see some more.
Olivia and Ivan eloped from chilli Tasmania to be married beachfront at tropical Palm Cove.
When they arrived the day before it was bucketing with rain! The afternoon of their wedding the sun came out and we had lovely blue skies! Phew!
Olivia’s sister Jenny, came up from Townsville to witness the marriage. She also read a lovely poem at the ceremony, which was performed by Vivian Reid.
After the ceremony we went for a walk along the palm tree lined Esplanade in front of Angsana Resort, taking photos as we went. From there, we headed down to the jetty at the Northern end of Palm Cove beach.
We walked along the beach and explored around the rocky outcrop. Once Olivia and Ivan had worked up sufficient sweat climbing up and down and over the rocks, it was time to TRASH the dress! Olivia wanted to do this from the start and it was fun! The 15 knot breeze washed up some nice big waves to crash over them as I had them rolling around on the beach at the low tide mark! Before long they were both soaked through, covered in sand and enjoying the cool water!
I headed off shortly after, leaving them to put their sopping wet wedding clothes into a garbage bag and don some fresh attire for their evening dinner of celebration in town.
Thank you for being brave enough to “TRASH” , Olivia and Ivan! It was fun! It was also my pleasure to photograph your wedding and Trash session, so thank you for asking me! Below are a few of my favorites from the day. Check out their on-line album to see the rest of Olivia and Ivan’s photos from their wedding day.
