2011 was a busy year for me and 2012 is looking good! I put together this 5 minute video of some of my favorite images from weddings and other shoots I have done this year. It was a difficult task to get it down to five minutes! A big thank you to all my lovely brides and grooms, pregnant Mum’s and Dad’s and families I have photographed through out the year….it was my absolute pleasure to photograph every single one of you and capture these special moments in your lives. Thank you for trusting me with this important task. I am passionate about photography and so privileged that I can do something that I love so much as a full time job. Enjoy the video!
Louise and Brendan came from Brisbane for their wedding here in the Far North. Louise grew up around Mareeba and so it was only natural that she marry Brendan at St Thomas’ church in Mareeba. Friends and family came from everywhere to attend this happy occasion. Louise looked stunning as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her Dad. Louise’s nieces made very cute flower girls!
After the service I climbed the stairs to the Juliet balcony to take a photo from above the forecourt of all the guest below! Family photos followed then all the guest boarded a bus to Cairns for the reception. Louise and Brendan and I drove from Mareeba, stopping at scenic places along the way for photos. We finished taking photos at the Kuranda train station and this is where I left Louise and Brendan to head down the hill to join their friends and family to celebrate their marriage at the wedding reception.
Thank you for asking me to be your photographer on this special day in your lives Louise and Brendan….it was a fun afternoon!
Below is a video of some of my favorite photos taken on the day. You may also like to have a look at Louise and Brendan’s on-line album.
Recently I entered four images into the International Loupe Awards. There were over 2900 entries. I am very pleased with my results of 1 Silver Award and 3 Bronze Awards! The images are below and thank you to my lovely brides and grooms for allowing me to enter their images in the awards.
Kim and Cameron were married at 4pm on the foreshore at Clifton Beach on 1st November. Kay Earl performed a lovely ceremony. It was quite windy on the beach that afternoon! After the ceremony we took some photos on the beach then headed inland to a rainforest creek to get out of the wind!
Below are a couple of my favorite shots from their afternoon wedding. Congratulations to Kim and Cameron and thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer!
A small intimate gathering with a few family and friends, Lauren and Shane were married outside the Angsana Chapel at Palm Cove. Barbie Anderson performed a lovely ceremony which included readings from both the bride’s and the grooms’ brothers. A group photo with everyone afterwards and then photos of family and friends with Lauren and Shane.
Some photos on the beach in front of Angsana then we headed down to the Palm Cove jetty for some more fun and photos!
Back at Angsana we did the mock cake cutting photos then I left Shane and Lauren to enjoy their wedding celebrations with their guests at the reception which was held inside the Angsana Chapel.
I love the warm tone to Lauren and Shane’s photos. We have had a lot of bushfires on the Atherton Tablelands and surrounds, combined with northerly winds there was a pall of smoke haze hanging around diffusing the light from the sun, giving this lovely warm effect to the photos. To see more photos from Lauren and Shane’s wedding day check out their on-line album.
I love a big country wedding and Jacqui and Adam’s was exactly how I had pictured it! They were married on Mena Vale Station south of Cairns on a glorious Saturday afternoon. Adam had grown up on the station and his parents still live next door, so it was the perfect location! Tammy and Richard own the property and had made a special effort to host Jacqui and Adam’s wedding and their 180 ish guests. They had built a great timber deck jutting out over the lake in front of the homestead for Adam and Jacqui to have their ceremony on.
Jacqui and her Uncle flew in across the valley in a chopper. They were then transferred to the waiting bridal car and transported to the ceremony. A lovely ceremony was performed by Elrae Schnitzerling and included a balloon release afterwards to commemorate those who could not be there.
I took a big group photo with all of the guests behind Jacqui and Adam. It took a bit to organise but we got it in the end!
Mena Vale Station has so many great places and vistas for wedding photos! Richard bought over 2 of his most gorgeous quarter horses to be photographed with Adam and Jacqui. These are some of my favorite shots of the day! A drive around the property for some more country style photos and then a four wheel drive ride with Adam’s Dad Chris, up to the very top of a hill over looking the station. This is where I took my very favorite shots with the moon in the top of the photos!
At the end of the day I headed off back to Kuranda to leave Jacqui and Adam to celebrate at their wedding reception in the marque set up behind the homestead.
Thank you for asking me to photograph this special day for you Jacqui and Adam, it was my pleasure and heaps of fun!
Below are some of my favorite shots and a video of highlights from the day. You may also like to check out Adam and Jacqui’s on-line album.
Friends and family witnessed the ceremony performed by Carla Papas. Sam looked stunning as she was walked down the aisle by her Dad. Sam’s three sisters and Matt’s daughter Kayla, made gorgeous bridesmaids and had fun doing it! Sam and Matt’s daughter Chloe was just the cutest thing ever in her little dress and pig tails!
After the ceremony, just as everyone was about to gather for the flower shower and group photos, the skies opened up and showered us with the just a sprinkle of rain! It didn’t last long and we continued on with the family photos anyway!
We all piled into golf buggies for a tour around the golf course with the bridal party for photos. Jennifer from MOD video’s joined me in a buggy and captured the action as we zipped around the holes, dodging golfers in their buggies!
I left everyone shortly after to enjoy their reception, also at Paradise Palms.
I really enjoyed photographing your wedding Matt and Sam, so thank you for asking me to be your photographer!
Below are a few of my favorite photos and a video of highlights of Sam and Matt’s wedding day. You may also like to check out their on-line album to see some more.
Friends and family joined Taylor and Jimmy from all over the country to witness their marriage ceremony performed by Gina Miles.
Photos were taken around the lush tropical gardens of the Resort before the bride and groom joined their guests to celebrate at their reception, also at the Colonial Club.
Thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer Taylor and Jimmy. It was a great day!

Last Saturday Scott and Emma were joined by their gorgeous baby girl and around 24 guests to be married over looking Palm Cove at luxurious Sapphire Ridge.
It had rained most of the day. The ceremony was to be held at 3pm on the timber deck with the ocean as a beautiful backdrop, but due to the rain it was decided to have it undercover inside the house. Luckily, Emma was running a little, as by 3.30 the sun was shining, the deck was quickly mopped and all was prepared for the ceremony on the deck!
Scott’s best-man sang and played guitar as Emma arrived on the arm of her Dad, who had traveled all the way from England! Leisel from Our Ceremony performed a lovely ceremony which included a reading from Scott’s Mum Deb. A group photo and family photos with the bride and groom on the deck followed the ceremony. The house is surrounded by rainforest and lovely gardens, so we took some photos around there and then headed down to Palm Cove beach for some more photos.
Thank you for asking me to share and capture this special day in your lives Scott and Emma, it was heaps of fun!

Saturday morning it was overcast and raining……..by the time 2pm Saturday afternoon came around the sun was shining and the sky was blue! Phew!
When I arrived at Dan and Anusha’s place the house was a hive of activity with Anusha’s parents, brothers and relatives all getting ready. Anusha looked stunning in her Sri Lankan traditional sari made from gold silk. Anusha’s Mum helped her with her jewellery, then Dan’s brother Nic arrived to deliver Anusha’s flowers. Anusha’s bridesmaid, Bernadette was also wearing a traditional sari which really fitted in with all the ladies! We took lots of photos with everyone, Anusha’s uncle was very helpful holding my reflector for me! A quick photo with Dan and Anusha’s gorgeous Border Collie’s before I headed down to the chapel to photograph Dan and Nic awaiting Anusha’a arrival.
Barbie Anderson performed a lovely ceremony at the Angsana Chapel at Palm Cove, with readings by both Anusha and Dan’s mothers. The paperwork complete, Dan and Anusha left the Chapel as Mr and Mrs! As they walked from the chapel the guests formed a guard of honor to throw petals for Dan and Anusha to walk through! A big group photo in front of the chapel was next, followed by family and friends photos with the bride and groom. The guests then headed down to the restaurant for drinks and canapes while we continued on down to the beach for photos.
After photos on the beach and palm tree lined esplanade, Dan and Anusha were transported in muscle car luxury, a fire engine red ’71 mustang convertible, to the Palm Cove jetty for more photos! Very cool!
Photos on the rocks and surrounds, then I left Dan and Anusha to enjoy their open top ride to their reception at Whitfield House.
What a great day! Thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer Dan and Anusha, I really enjoyed being part of your special day!
Below are a few of my favorite images from their day. You may also like to check out Dan and Anush’a on-line album.
