Cairns and Port Douglas wedding photography – 2011 in review

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

2011 was a busy year for me and 2012 is looking good! I put together this 5 minute video of some of my favorite images from weddings and other shoots I have done this year. It was a difficult task to get it down to five minutes! A big thank you to all my lovely brides and grooms, pregnant Mum’s and Dad’s and families I have photographed through out the year….it was my absolute pleasure to photograph every single one of you and capture these special moments in your lives. Thank you for trusting me with this important task. I am passionate about photography and so privileged that I can do something that I love so much as a full time job. Enjoy the video!

Palm Cove wedding photography – Tash and Garth at Sea Temple Palm Cove on 10th December 2011

Monday, December 19th, 2011

Tash and Garth were joined by family and friends at the Sea Temple Resort at Palm Cove for their wedding on the 10th December. Tash looked gorgeous and happy as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her dad to meet Garth. The ceremony was performed by Phil Bignall from Tash and Garths’ local church.
It was a very hot day, actually around 35 degrees, so Tash and Garth did well to survive the heat dressed in all their wedding finery!
A group photo and then friends and family photos under the fans followed the ceremony, before Tash and Garth and I headed down to the beach for some photos.
We finished off at the jetty at Palm Cove, then I dropped Tash and Garth back to their reception at the Sea Temple.
Congratulations to Tash and Garth and thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer….it was a fun afternoon!
Below is a video of highlights from the wedding, you may also like to check out Tash and Garth’s on-line album here.

Cairns Wedding Photography – Louise and Brendan at Mareeba on 26th November 2011

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

Louise and Brendan came from Brisbane for their wedding here in the Far North. Louise grew up around Mareeba and so it was only natural that she marry Brendan at St Thomas’ church in Mareeba. Friends and family came from everywhere to attend this happy occasion. Louise looked stunning as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her Dad. Louise’s nieces made very cute flower girls!

After the service I climbed the stairs to the Juliet balcony to take a photo from above the forecourt of all the guest below! Family photos followed then all the guest boarded a bus to Cairns for the reception. Louise and Brendan and I drove from Mareeba, stopping at scenic places along the way for photos. We finished taking photos at the Kuranda train station and this is where I left Louise and Brendan to head down the hill to join their friends and family to celebrate their marriage at the wedding reception.

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer on this special day in your lives Louise and Brendan….it was a fun afternoon!

Below is a video of some of my favorite photos taken on the day. You may also like to have a look at Louise and Brendan’s on-line album.

Palm Cove wedding photography – Paula and Marty at Sea Temple Resort and Spa Palm Cove on 4th November 2011

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

Paula and Marty came from South Australia with their gorgeous little boy, Oliver to be married on the beach at Sea Temple Palm Cove last Friday. Once again we had great weather, with a slight breeze to keep us cool! The ceremony was at 3.30 with myself and Fay from Busy Bees Babysitting acting as witnesses, Wayne Rees did a fab job as usual!

A walk along the beach after the ceremony with Oliver dunking his feet in the ocean for some photos. We then headed down to the jetty at Palm Cove for some more photos by the sea. Back at Sea Temple, Paula talked Marty into a swim in the pool…in their wedding clothes! Other guests were delighted and entertained as the Bride and Groom enthusiastically plunged into the warm waters of the resort pool!

Congratulations to Marty and Paula and Oliver! Thank you for having me as your photographer, it was a fun afternoon! Here are a couple of favorites from Paul and Marty’s wedding.

Kim and Cameron were married at 4pm on the foreshore at Clifton Beach on 1st November. Kay Earl performed a lovely ceremony. It was quite windy on the beach that afternoon! After the ceremony we took some photos on the beach then headed inland to a rainforest creek to get out of the wind!
Below are a couple of my favorite shots from their afternoon wedding. Congratulations to Kim and Cameron and thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer!

A thank you from Lauren and Shane

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Lauren and Shane were married at Palm Cove on the 30th September 2011. You can see their story here. I recently received this lovely email from Lauren;

Hi Tracey, The photos look amazing. I was so excited to receive your text while I was away and then to see the photos…… I was speechless. I could not have been more excited or happy with them. I don’t know what else to say except thank you. I would shout from the top of the Angsana to everyone who was listening that if they’re planning on getting married, to use you as their photographer.

The whole day, to be honest, was perfect and I owe a lot of that to you. My whole family were so rapt with you and couldn’t speak highly enough of you and your services so from the bottom of my heart, truly thank you for everything you did for us on the day.

Cairns wedding photography – Amanda and Ron’s Hot Air Balloon wedding on 13th October 2011

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Amanda and Ron came from Victoria to be married in a Hot Air balloon high above the Atherton Tablelands just after sunrise on a glorious, warm and sunny morning.

Wayne Rees performed their ceremony with myself and Shane the balloon pilot acting as witnesses. Once we landed in a paddock, the paperwork complete, I took some photos of Amanda and Ron with Mt Uncle in the background and with a rusty old truck parked in the paddock!

From there we headed down to Ellis Beach to finish off their photo shoot with a Trash the Dress session! Thanks for asking me to be your photographer Amanda and Ron, it was cool fun!

Here are a couple of my favorite shots from the day………

Cairns Wedding Photography – Sharyn and Ben’s wedding at Sacred Heart Church on 8th October 2011

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

Sharyn and Ben were married at the Sacred Heart Church at Freshwater at 2.30pm. This amazing old church was in built in 1936, but has recently had a refurbishment. Sharyn and the girls arrived in some very cool muscle cars! We could hear them coming before we saw them!

It was a lovely warm day and the church was packed to the rafters! After the ceremony everyone squashed up together for a group photo and flower shower on the steps of the church. This was followed by family photos and some photos of the bridal party around the church.

Everyone piled into the cars and off we went for a drive to find some cane paddocks, a rainforest creek with a bridge (always good for wedding photos!) and then down to the Cairns waterfront for some sunset photos.

Below are some of my favorites from the day…I love the rainforest bridge photo and the veil blowing in the wind especially! You can check out Sharyn and Ben’s on-line album to see some more photos from their wedding day.

Port Douglas wedding photography – Shannae and Damian at St Mary’s by the Sea 7th October 2011

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

An absolutely glorious day for Shannae and Damian’s wedding at St Mary’s by The Sea in Port Douglas. The wedding was performed by Father Barry which included a hand tying ceremony.

A group photo which included a flower petal shower in front of the chapel was followed by photos with family and friends. We then had a walk along the beach and over to the sugar wharf for bridal party photos. Heading back to the reception we stopped at a crystal clear rainforest creek for an impromptu dip in the water! We only got our feet and legs wet, no trashing of the dress at this stage!

Shannae and Damian’s reception was held at Rainforest Estate Finalyvale near Mossman. What an amazing place! It is a photographers ideal location for taking photos with lots of light inside and lots of beautiful tropical gardens outside!

I stayed to photograph the cake cutting and we also took some photos of the house all lit up and some of Shannae and Damian by the pool and under a big gum tree.

Thank you to Shannae and Damian for asking me to be your wedding photographer! You were a dream to photograph and it was a fun day!

Below is a video of highlights from the day and some favorite shots. You may like to have a look at Shannae and Damian’s on-line album as well.
