Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Jason & Janine on 18th April 2010

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Janine and Jason drove up from Brisbane with their lovely 5 month old daughter, Emily, to be married at Palm Cove.

I went to the room where Janine was getting dressed to take some “bride’s preparation” photos. Shae from Tropical Beauty was just doing the finishing touches to hair and make-up when I arrived. She did a fabulous job, as usual!  Janine has 3 sisters who were her bridesmaid. All the girls are very close in age with very similar features. Their gorgeous big blue eyes were the stand out for me! Emily was such a good girl while Janine got ready! Janine’s Mum and Dad were the perfect baby entertainers, keeping Emily and their other 10 week old grand-daughter ( Janine’s sister’s bub)  fed and amused while I photographed the girls..thanks Mum and Dad!

Friends and family joined Janine and Jason to celebrate their marriage at 3pm at the delightful Sebel Reef House and Spa on the Esplanade at Palm Cove. The ceremony was performed by the as always gregarious, Wayne Rees, under the purple blooming bougainvillea vine by the pool.

Photos with family and friends straight after the ceremony, then an explore around the garden for photos with the bridal party. Jason, Janine and I then jumped in my little car and headed down to the jetty for a few photos along the beach and on the craggy rocks to the north of the jetty.

Photo fun and games over, let the party begin! I dropped Janine and Jason back at the Resort where they enjoyed a wonderful evening celebrating their marriage amongst their family and friends.

Thank you for having me as your photographer Janine and Jason, it was a pleasure!

Below are some of my favorites from the day. Check out Jason and Janine’s on-line album to see some more images from the day.

Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Jacqui & Shaun on 10th April 2010

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

Finally! The sun was shining! Jacqui and Shaun could not have chosen a better day to be married! The weather was glorious and Paradise Palms Resort and Country Club at Palm Cove the perfect location. Due to a major golf tournament the ceremony was held on a balcony over looking the course, quite a speccy view I reckon!

I went to see Jacqui and the girls at the Casino in Cairns before the ceremony to photograph Jacqui getting ready. The Casino has fabulous rooms which make taking photos there a dream! Beautiful furnishings and lots of natural light spilling into the room. When I arrived Jacqui’s bridesmaids were all dressed and ready to go…well done girls! I took some photos of the dress, shoes and flowers, oh and the hot pink hand bag! The theme for Jacqui and Shaun’s wedding was black and hot pink, which are my logo colours, so I was all colour co-ordinated, dressed in black and pink and driving my black car with pink writing!

The girls helped Jacqui into her dress, then we took some more photos. Jacqui’s Mum and Dad arrived just in time to take some photos with their gorgeous daughter! Photos all done, I left the girls to relax and await their chariot. I drove straight Palm Cove to photograph Shaun and the boys.

Some photos on the golf course with the boys, then I let them get back to greeting the guests as they arrived. A great big, sexy, dark blue, stretched limousine delivered Jacqui and the girls to Paradise Palms right on time! Thanks to Robert and Natalie at Cairns Luxury Limousines!

Kay Earl performed a lovely ceremony and all went to plan, apart from a small wardrobe malfunction on the pageboys pants buckle right before the ceremony!

Jacqui’s Auntie as well as her sister Ashton both read great poems to Jacqui and Shaun.

After the ceremony all the guests gathered below the balcony for a group photo with the bride and groom, followed by family and friends photos.

The entire bridal party were then escorted around the golf course in zippy little golf buggies for some photo opportunities. A quick dash back to the super stretch and a short drive to Palm Cove beach and jetty for some more photos. We just caught the last fading pink light from the sunset before I left everyone brushing the sand from their feet before climbing back into the luxury of the C300 for the trip back to Cairns for the reception at Brother’s Leagues Club.

I love my job! Thanks for having me as your photographer Jacqui and Shaun, it was cool fun!

Here are a few of my favorites from the day, check out Jacqui and Shaun’s on-line album to see some more!

Cairns Wedding Photography – The Wedding of Jenna & Luke on 6th April 2010

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Jenna and Luke were married last Tuesday at historic Eden House at Yungaburra.

Friends and family gathered at 3.30 under the gazebo at Eden House to witness the lovely ceremony performed by Marion Reid. Luke is a Tablelands boy and Jenna’s family traveled up from Bileola.

After the ceremony Jenna and Luke had a butterfly release ceremony. The butterflies performed admirably, flying off when they were released! Sometimes they like to just stay inside their warm little box!

A group photo under the marque was followed by family and friends photos in the garden. Then Jenna and Luke and the bridal party and I meandered around the garden in search of a dry spot for photos! Eden House is actually quite a good location if it happens to rain on the day, which it did on and off last Tuesday! The property has an excellent undercover area for the ceremony which can accommodate a lot of guests as well as big wide verandas, perfect for photos afterward! The gardens are also magnificent and well maintained, everywhere you look there is a photo opportunity! So of course we did duck out into the garden in between showers for some outside shots to add to the collection.

I farewelled Jenna and Luke to delicious smells of a their reception dinner cooking in the kitchen, leaving them to enjoy their reception and mingle with their guests.

Jenna and Luke, thank you for asking me to be your photographer on this special day in your lives, it was my pleasure!

Below are a few of my favorite images from day. You can see more of Jenna and Luke’s photos from their wedding day at their on-line album.

Cairns Wedding Photography – The wedding of Shaun & Brenda on 27th March 2010

Monday, April 5th, 2010

Todays’ Cairns post newspaper said that we have experienced 14 rainy days in a row! Brenda and Shaun’s wedding day was no exception!

Brenda and Shaun were married last Saturday at Millaa Millaa on the Southern Tablelands. Millaa Millaa is a magnificent, green, lush and hilly place. It is also home to the famous Millaa Millaa Falls.

Brenda and the girls got ready at Brenda’s parents splendid house on top of a hill at Millaa. When I arrived Brenda’s Mum had the wood fire burning, a lovely, comfy welcome for everyone.

The girls were all dressed and ready to go….well done girls! This gave us plenty of time for photos without having to rush too much. The main bedroom was well lit, airy and perfect for photos. Brenda’s Dad had spent some time out in the rain getting Brenda’s best buddy Brad ready for photos. There is a great under cover area where Brenda and Brad could have some photos together…Bradman is Brenda’s much loved horse! He was attired in purple reins and purple edged saddle blanket to match the bridesmaids! I think he was relieved that he didn’t have to deliver Brenda to the alter in the rain!  A few quick shots with Brad and away to the ceremony to see Shaun and the boys!

The ceremony was held at Plan B…the Millaa Millaa RSL Hall. Shaun and the boys were looking very handsome and waiting patiently for the bridal party to arrive. The Hall is huge and it looked amazing! It had been decorated and all prepared for the reception. The guests sat at their tables to enjoy the ceremony.

The rain abated to a very light drizzle when Brenda arrived, so she was able to make her way to the red carpet without a brolly! Marion Reed performed a lovely ceremony, then the signing of the paperwork and the deed was done! Afterwards family and friends gathered for photos with the bride and groom before we all boarded the bus to find a dry spot for photos!

First stop was Millaa Millaa Falls….of course! I had asked Brenda to buy some white umbrella’s for the photo shoot. She found some clear ones and they were perfect! Thank you to the bus driver for being my brolly holder on the day!

From Millaa Millaa we headed over to Nicky and Les’ place just up the road. They had kindly let Brenda and Shaun use their fabulous garden as a backdrop for their photos. We actually ended up using their fabulous deck for the photos! We did take some shots in the rain, but mostly on the deck! So thank you to Nicky and Les for letting us invade their gorgeous little retreat!

We all piled back into the bus and headed back to Millaa Millaa. A quick stop at the pub for a drink and some more photos and then off to the reception.

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Shaun and Brenda. It was my pleasure! You didn’t let a bit of rain spoil the day for you and had a great time anyway! I wish you both lots of happiness and fun for the future!

Below are a few of my favs from the day. Please check out Brenda and Shaun’s on-line album for some more!
