The Wedding of Matt & Sayaka on 2nd November 2009

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Matt and Sayaka’s wedding was the first wedding I photographed back from holidays!

The weather was a bit touch and go with showers around in the morning, but by the afternoon they had cleared and Matt and Sayaka were able to be married in the gazebo at the Cairns Colonial Club.

The ceremony was performed by Vivian Reid and witnessed by friends and family from far and wide, including Sayaka’s family who came from Japan.

After the ceremony I took a group photo of all of the guests from the top balcony looking down between the palm trees. Some photos around the gardens and in the foyer with the piano and the magnificent stair case, then we headed down to Centenary Lakes to look for crocodiles!

We didn’t see any crocodiles but we did get some great shots around the lake! We also managed to get eaten alive by the midgees!

I left Matt and Sayaka at the Lake as they headed off to enjoy their reception.

You can view Matt & Sayaka’s wedding album on-line, but in the meantime, below are some of my favorites shots from the day.

The Wedding of Kim and Glenn on 17th October 2009

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Kim and Glenn’s wedding was the last wedding I photographed before jumping on a plane to New Zealand at 10am the next morning!

Lots of brides and grooms are now opting to have their photo shoot before the ceremony so that they can get straight into the reception when the ceremony is over. No standing around time for the guest this way either!

I met Kim and the girls at Novatel, Palm Cove for the brides’ preparation photos and some pics with her parents. We then went down to meet the boys at the entrance to the Resort. We took some photos in the rainforest and on the very cool timber walkway, before heading down to Palm Cove beach.

On the beach we had fun doing a few different shots on the jetty, under the jetty and with the jetty in the background! Over to the rocks for some photos playing around there and then all too soon it was time to be on our way to the ceremony.

I met the boys at Ellis Beach, only 5 minutes from Palm Cove, for the ceremony. I took some “boy photos” while they waited for Kim and the girls to arrive. Once they arrived friends and family witnessed a beautiful ceremony performed by Kay Earl just before sunset.

After the ceremony we took a group photo of everyone on the beach at twilight with Double Island in the background. The light was gorgeous so we rushed around taking a few more photos of Kim and Glenn and the bridal party before the nice light completely disappeared!

I had a great time photographing Kim and Glenn’s wedding, so thanks for asking me guys!

Below are some favs from the day, you can also view Kim and Glenn’s on-line album to see more of their wedding day.

A big thank you from Claire and Shane!

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

I just received this email from Claire and Shane and had to share! I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now!

They were married on the 23rd August 2009.

Dear Tracey,

Wow what a day! There are so many parts to our wedding day that we wouldn’t have remembered without your wonderful work. Your presence was unknown on the day, yet every moment is captured. The attention to detail, your personality and skill made our day a wonderful memory and one we will remember all so much better with the beautiful work in our prints and albums. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We had so much fun on the day, Shane and I feel like we’ve made a new friend! We wouldn’t and don’t have any hesitations when recommending Azure Photography especially for capturing such a special day as a wedding.

Thank you so much, you’re a fantastic photographer and we’re so glad you shared our day with us and captured so many special moments.

Kind Regards

Shane & Claire Cranston

I had the best time photographing Claire and Shane’s wedding and then Trash the Dress with them a few days later. We had a bit of a connection when we met as Shane’s Mum had recently retired from being the post lady at our local post office in Kuranda for the past 30 years! The three so us hit it off the minute we met and it was lovely being part of their journey to becoming husband and wife. (Their honeymoon photos of the tigers were awesome!)

Below are the albums that I designed for Shane and Claire of their wedding and the Trash session.

Hope you enjoy them as I enjoyed making them!

The Wedding of Nicole and Stefan on 16th October 2009

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Nicole and Stef had a small ceremony at Little Cove next to Rex Smeal park at Port Douglas.

Everyone came from WA and a romantic little ceremony including Nicole and Stef’s children, was performed by Vivian Reid. After the ceremony we did some family shots and then I headed down to the beach with Nicole and Stef.

When we had finished doing all the photos I met Nicole and Stef over at the On The Inlet Restaurant where the reception lunch was held. I did a couple of shots of the table and the cake and then left everyone to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this lovely restaurant by the water.

Below are a few of my favs, you can check out Nicole and Stef’s on-line album to view their album from the day.

A thank you from Jacqui & Joshua

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Jacqui and Josh were married in a lovely little ceremony on Four Mile beach at Port Douglas on the 12th October. The weather was perfect!

The ceremony was performed by Kay Earl and witnessed by an old school friend of Jacqui who now lives in the area with her hubby and gorgeous daughter. She also did Jacqui’s hair for her!

I just received this lovely thank you email from Jacqui on the weekend.

We got our photos this week and I wanted to say Thank you so much. They are beautiful! I can’t wait to get some in frames, although I love so many of them I don’t know how we’ll choose! You’ve more than exceeded our expectations and you were so easy and relaxing to be around on the day, which has obviously helped us get so many lovely shots.

Once again, thanks heaps!

Jacqui & Joshua

Thanks Jacqui and Joshua! It was certainly my pleasure to photograph your wedding on the beach on such a glorious day!

Below is my favorite photo from the day. You can check out Jacqui & Joshua’s on-line album to see all of their photos.

The Wedding of Rob & Vee on 14th October 2009

Friday, November 13th, 2009

What a glorious day for Rob and Vee to be married on Coconut Beach at Cape Tribulation!

Rob and Vee had a lovely intimate ceremony with family and friends performed Julie Reedy, a local Cape Tribulation celebrant,  under “The Wedding Tree” directly in front of Cape Tribulation Resort & Spa

After the ceremony we took some photos with Rob and Vee’s family and friends and then went for a wander along the deserted beach. The tide was very low exposing the old coral reef, which made for excellent photos! Interestingly while we were setting up one shot a dinghy came in and parked right next to Rob and Vee! Very strange when there was an entire deserted beach to land on!  All was explained when a guy emerged from the dinghy with a very painful looking, dislocated shoulder! All was forgiven for getting in our photo!

After the photo shoot Rob and Vee and their guests enjoyed a delicious wedding lunch poolside at The Resort restaurant.

Thank you for asking me to share your special day Rob and Vee, it was my pleasure!

Here are a couple of my favourites from the day. You can also view the entire album on-line.

The Wedding of Fiona & Luke on 10th October 2009

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Fiona and Luke were married on the beach at Yorkeys Knob at 4pm.

Fiona wore a stunning black and white designer dress. The whole black and white theme of the wedding worked really well. The girls were super organised when I arrived for the pre-wedding shoot. We had a bit of time left over so we went for a walk around the Pepper Beach Club Resort to take some more photos. The Resort is all very modern with lots of white walls. These walls complimented Fiona’s black and white dress and the bridesmaids black dresses well. We had heaps of fun on the shoot around the Resort, the girls made it easy for me too!

I left the girls and headed to Yorkey’s to catch up with the boys and take some shots of them before the ceremony. Even the family poodles were at the ceremony sporting bows around their necks to blend in!

Fiona and the girls were delivered in a shiny white stretch limo. They were greeted by Fiona’s Dad, who then escorted Fiona down the sandy aisle to her waiting groom.

The ceremony was performed by Vivian Reid and lasted about 25 minutes. After the ceremony we gathered everyone together for a group photo with the ocean in the background. Some family photos with the bride and groom followed by photos of the bridal party on the beach and rocks.

As the light dissipated we headed over to the Marina for some photos on a yacht belonging to a friend of the family. The shots of Fiona and Luke on the deck at sunset are some of my favorites from the day.

What a lovely and enjoyable afternoon it was. Thank you Fiona and Luke for asking me to capture this special day for you.

Below are a few shots from the day, you can view Fiona and Luke’s on-line album to see their entire wedding.

The Wedding of Emily & Mustafa on 9th October 2009

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Emily and Mustafa came from Dubai to be married on Palm Cove beach. The weather could not have been better! The ocean was still and the sky was blue with a soft breeze from the North.

Emily and Mustafa arrived in style. A classic white carriage pulled by Thunder the magnificent grey horse, driven by Derani from Andalusion Horse and Carriage.

A lovely ceremony was performed by Barbie Anderson on the beach with Double Island making a spectacular back drop. After the ceremony we went for a walk along the beach for some photos. Emily and Mustafa were quite adventurous clambering over the rocks barefoot to get some really great shots above the beach.

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Emily and Mustafa, it was a great pleasure to witness and be part of your marriage on this amazing day at Palm Cove.

This is one of my favorite albums and it was hard to choose which photos to put here! Go to Emily and Mustafa’s on-line album to view more of their images.

The Wedding of Rikki and Mathew on 4th October 2009

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Rikki and Mat were joined by family and friends to witness their marriage at the picturesque St Mary’s By The Sea Chapel in Port Douglas.

The bridesmaids did a very swanky dance down the aisle, followed by Rikki in the arms of both her parents. The ceremony was performed by Sarah Woods of I Do Ceremonies and included a ring warming ceremony, where Rikki and Mat’s rings were passed around their family and friends to warm the rings in their hands before they were placed on the fingers of the bride and groom.

After the ceremony Rikki and Mat and the rest of the bridal party danced back down the aisle and out the door! Outside the chapel there was a butterfly release followed by a group photo in front of the chapel.

Friends and family photos after that and then down to the beach for the bridal party photo shoot. The boys had rented zippy little scooters to get to the Chapel. I love the photo below of Mat taking Rikki for a ride on the scooter!

After the photo shoot a boat picked the bridal party up from the sugar wharf to deliver them to the Combined Club for the reception.

To view Rikki and Mat’s photos go to their on-line album, but in the meantime here are a few of my favs from the day.

The Wedding of Kailey and Brad on 3rd October 2009

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Kailey and Brad live in Canada and decided on Cairns as the destination for their wedding. The ceremony was held on the beach at Ellis Beach Surf Club at 3pm.

The weather was perfect with a light breeze to keep everyone cool. Friends and family from around the world joined Kailey and Brad to witness their marriage and the lovely ceremony performed by Vivian Reid.

After the ceremony I took a group photo of all the guests with the calm blue ocean in the background. family photos followed and a photo shoot on the beach with the bridal party, catching the last of the light before it slipped away behind the rainforest mountain.

Here are some of my favorite photos from the day. You can check out Kailey and Brad’s on-line album to view more images from their special day.

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Kailey and Brad, it was my pleasure and a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
