After a very hectic wedding season Bob and I are off on a mountain biking holiday in New Zealand!
You will find everything you need to know about our photography packages for 2010 on the website. We also just added some new albums and photos to the galleries.
I will have my very own “Office Guru” Dee, answering emails for me while we are away. So, if you would like to check availability please send Dee an email.
We will back on the 1st November, all refreshed and ready to tackle the “silly” season!
Janene and Aaron came from Sydney to be married at the stunning and picturesque Thala Beach Lodge. The Lodge sits atop a headland over looking the ocean just South of Port Douglas.
The dust storm had actually reached us up here in Far North QLD by then, so the horizon over the ocean was not visible. It actually had a kind of misty quality about it!
Actually getting to Janene and Aaron’s wedding proved to be quite a feat for me that day! There had been an accident on the Kuranda Range Rd and it was closed for most of the day. Bob rang me to let me know. I abandoned my office and headed off earlier than planned to go “the long way round”!
The normally one hour trip ended up taking 2 and a half hours! Some how I managed to get myself blocked into a funeral procession traveling at 80km/hr for about 50kms!
The ceremony was set for 4pm, I arrived at 3.35pm! Plenty of time!
The ceremony was held on the top deck of the Ospreys restaurant. Friends from Sydney had joined Janene and Aaron for their special day. Vivian Reid performed a lovely ceremony and everything was taken care of and overseen by Angie from Dynamic Weddings. She also coordinates weddings at the Resort.
After the ceremony we had a wander around the resort for some photo opportunities and then Angie zipped us all around in a golf buggy to get some more photos at the bottom rock pool.
All in all it was a lovely afternoon and a pleasure to be part of Janene and Aaron’s special day.
Below are some of my favorite images from day. You can also check out Janene and Aaron’s on-line album to see some more!
I just love country weddings and I had 2 in the one week this week!
Mary ann and Paul live in Melbourne now and returned home to be married at the Ravenshoe Catholic Church. Many of their family and friends joined them from the local area and other parts of the country.
It was a magnificent day at Ravenshoe, the sun was shining and it was lovely and warm.
The ceremony was set for 1pm. Father Hillary Flynn came up from Cairns, as he is the parish priest for Ravenshoe, Father Gerry O’Connor came from the Gulf and Paul’s family bought along Father Barry from country Victoria, so the ceremony was well and truly covered! All three were lovely, did a great job of sharing the ceremony between them and couldn’t resist a joke or two while we awaited Mary ann’s arrival!
After the ceremony we took a group photo in front of the church and then friends and family photos.
Across the road from the church was a very cool old Masonic Lodge made from corrugated iron. It made the perfect backdrop for some photos of Mary ann and Paul and the bridal party.
After that we jumped in our cars and headed down to the local icon, Millaa Millaa Falls, about a 20 minute drive away. A quick stop at the local wind farm for a few shots, then back on the road. When we arrived at the falls, being a local icon, it was swarming with tourists! Now, I have excellent photo-shop skills, but you can only do so much! Janice, one of Mary ann’s bridesmaids made her way down to the waterfall and politely asked if everyone could please move out of the way so the bride and groom could have some photos! And they did! Well done Janice! and thank you!
We had to move quickly as we were racing the light. We got some great shots, then jumped back in the cars and convoyed back to Mary ann’s Mum’s farm.
The farm was a great location for photos! A walk along the access road and around the paddock, then I had everyone climb onto the hay bales for the last few photos!
The reception was on the farm, so I left them to it and headed off. What a great day!
Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Mary ann and Paul, it was fun!
Here are a couple of my fav’s from the day, please visit Mary ann and Paul’s’ on-line album to view more of their images.

This is the location for Cheyenne and Keith’s wedding. A beautiful property in the shadow of Mt Bartle Fere, Queensland’s second highest mountain. I took this photo a few weeks before the wedding on a late afternoon flight over the Tablelands in our little plane. The sunset that afternoon was a flaming orange ball and quite spectacular!
The best country wedding I have been to for ages! Every little detail had been taken care of. The ceremony was held under an enormous spreading figtree, with a red carpet, paper lanterns in the tree and bales of freshly cut hay for the guests to sit on. The cattle had been moved to another paddock and Cheyenne had painstakingly removed any remnants that the cattle had left behind!
Margaret Cochrane came from Gympie to perform the ceremony. Keith and the boys wore their best Akubra hats, looking very sharp in their black vests. Cheyenne arrived at about 4.30pm looking stunning in a dress hand made by her sister Kirby. In fact, Kirby made all of the dresses, including little Summer’s, Cheyenne and Keith’s gorgeous baby girl.
After the ceremony I climbed to the top of a very tall ladder to take a group photo of all the guests gathered together under the big tree. Family photos with the bride and groom followed.
On Keith and Cheyenne’s property is a lake full of platypus! Cheyenne’s Dad drove us to the lake where I counted at least 6 platypus popping up and down while I was photographing Cheyenne and Keith!
A mad rush back up to the ceremony location to fit in a few more photos before the sun disappeared behind the mountains completely. My favorite photo is the silhouette of Cheyenne and Keith kissing.
Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Cheyenne and Keith, I really enjoyed sharing and capturing your special day under the figtree at Butchers Creek.

On this glorious Saturday afternoon friends and family gathered at Rex Smeal Park in Port Douglas to witness the marriage of Kelly and Andrew.
Andrew and the boys were looking very handsome awaiting the arrival of Kelly. Although, one groomsman seemed to be having wardrobe issues!
Kelly and the girls arrived in a stretch limo just on time. Kelly looked stunning and her hair was amazing!
A lovely ceremony was performed by Rosina Santarossa with readings from one of the bridesmaids and Andrews sister.
Guests covered the bride and groom with bubbles as they made the rounds of the congratulations cuddles. I gathered everyone together for a group photo shortly after.
Before the guests headed off to the reception we took photos of Kelly and Andrew with their friends and family.
I took Kelly and Andrew down onto the beach where we clambered over the rocks to catch the last light of the afternoon. A walk in the park for a nice silhouette with the palm trees then a quick dash over to the old sugar wharf for some final sunset photos there.
I had a big day that day, but thoroughly enjoyed myself as usual! Thank you for having me as your photographer Kelly and Andrew…it was great!
Here are some of my favorites from the day. Don’t forget to check out their on-line album to see the rest of the photos!
What a glorious day Krissy and Steve had chosen to be married! It was a small morning wedding, I love morning weddings!. They were married under the palm trees in the backyard of a fantastic holiday house at Newell Beach. There was a slight breeze and the ocean glistened in the background.
The ceremony was performed by Peter Santarossa with a poem read by Krissy and Steve’s friends.
After the ceremony everyone gathered by the pool for a group photo and then we took some photos of family and friends with Krissy and Steve.
A casual stroll along the beach for a few photos of Krissy and Steve on their own and then I left them to a delicious lunch on the deck by the pool.
Here are a couple of my favs from the morning. Check out Krissy and Steve’s on-line album for some more images.
