The Wedding of Emma and Alan on the 16th August 2009

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Emma and Alan came from Weipa to be married by Vivian Reid at the Cairns Colonial Club Resort.

Family and friends gathered in the tropical gardens of the Resort for a 3.30pm ceremony. Emma looked stunning in her strapless dress. Emma’s sister was her bridesmaid dressed in a gorgeous pink dress. Alan’s brother was his best man. Both boys looked very handsome all dressed up!

After the ceremony I took a photo of all the guests from the balcony overlooking the garden. Friends and family photos followed. We then had a walk around the resort and took advantage of the rainforest setting for some great romantic photos of Emma and Alan.

We couldn’t resist getting Emma up onto the piano in the foyer for some fun shots there as well!

Below are a couple of my favorite photos from the day. You can also view Emma and Alan’s on-line album.

The Wedding of Kirsty and Mark on 10th August 2009

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Kirsty and Mark travelled all the way from the UK with their families and friends to be married at St Mary’s By The Sea Chapel in Port Douglas.

It was a perfect day for them and the ceremony was a very personal one performed by Vivian Reid. Kirsty’s brother wrote a great poem about the both of them which he read at the ceremony.

The Chapel is picture perfect and so we couldn’t resist taking a photo of everyone in front of it.  A friend had hired a big stretch limo for them as a surprise for the afternoon, so some photos with the car were also a must!

After that we wandered down to the beach behind the Chapel to capture the blue, blue sky and the calm water of the ocean. Over to the old sugar wharf for a few more pics then back to the beach to photograph the group enjoying the winter sun!

It was a pleasure to photograph your special day Kirsty and Mark, thanks for asking me!

Here are some of my favorites from the day. You can view some more of Kirsty and Mark’s photos at their on-line album.

The Wedding of Elizabeth and Robbie

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Elizabeth and Robbie came up from Brisbane and were married at the Angsana Chapel at Palm Cove on Saturday 8th August at 2pm.

The ocean was blue in the background through the windows of the Chapel as Barbie Anderson performed a lovely ceremony.

Friends and family congratulated Robbie and Elizabeth outside the Chapel after wards and then we did a group photo with all of the guests. It was a little bit windy on the day so we made our way into a covered area of the resort to take the family and friends photos.

An interesting fact: turns out Elizabeths Dad is the brother of Kate. I photographed the wedding of Kate and Kevin at the very same spot 3 years ago! Kate and Kevin were at the wedding with their brand new baby girl Claudia!

After the wedding the guests enjoyed canapes on the beachfront at Angsana while the bridal party and I took some photos along the tree lines avenue in front of Angsana. We drove down to the Northern end of the beach to the jetty for some shots down there as well.

The reception was at Peppers Resort.

Here are a couple of my fav’s from the day. You can also go to Elizabeth and Robbie’s on-line album to see some more!

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Elizabeth and Robbie, it was fun and the best man was quite entertaining!

A thank you from Jenny and Ross

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

I recently received this lovely email from Jenny and Ross. I photographed their wedding on 14th July.

Thank you for taking our photos on our very special day. You were just what we wanted- very professional but with a fun relaxed approach. One of my sisters commented on how she was surprised by some of the lovely intimate photos you took because you were so unobtrusive on the day. That’s true professionalism.

Thanks again

Jen and Ross

The Wedding of Clare and Cormac on 27th July 2009

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Clare and Cormac and their families came all the way from Scotland to enjoy our great weather and have their wedding in a gorgeous location.

Clare looked stunning in her strapless gown and Cormac wore the Cunningham Clan tartan.

The ceremony was held at the picturesque St Mary’s by the Sea chapel in Port Douglas at 3.30pm. Natasha Kollosche performed a very personal and really lovely ceremony.

After the ceremony we took some photos outside the chapel and then headed down to the beach and the old sugar terminal jetty. My favorite photo is the one below of Clare and Cormac with the palm tree above their heads. It really shows that they are in the tropics!

Back to the beach, Clare and Cormac’s family joined in the fun with some more beach photos.

Clare and Cormac, thank you for coming all the way to Tropical North Queensland to get married and thank you for choosing Azure Photography to capture your special day. I had heaps of fun!
