Trash the Dress with Helen and Tony

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Helen and Tony claim the title of the longest married “Trash” couple I have photographed! They were married in the UK 7 years ago and recently moved to Cairns. With the mould and humidity here in the Far North, Helen had been worrying about the state of her wedding dress when Tony suggested they do “something” with it.

That something turned out to be a “Trash the Dress” photoshoot with me last Friday!

It was another glorious day at Palm Cove with a bit of a breeze and warm sunshine. We started off with some tame photos of Helen and Troy and then gradually built up to a full dunking in the ocean!

The water was actually quite warm and the breeze gave us some waves.

Helen bought along some funky knee length black boots and Tony bought along the snorkel gear!

You can see the results below and check out the on-line album for some more “trashing” photos!

Thanks for Trashing your dress with me Helen and Tony…it was heaps of fun!

The Wedding of Trent and Felice on 18th July 2009

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Last weekend I had the absolute delight of photographing Trent and Felice’s wedding at Whitfield House. What a wonderful day it turned out to be. Felice looked stunning and her hair was amazing! She was surrounded by her friends, cousins and daughter all dressed in gorgeous buttercup yellow. I must say, some of the most attentive bridesmaids I have seen!

Trent was looking pretty sharp and quite excited before the ceremony.

Encircled by family and friends, Trent and Felice were married by Gina , in a ceremony full of love and emotion.

After the ceremony I took a couple of group photos including a flower petal shower which turned out to be quite colourful as you can see below! After the family photos in the gardens we headed over to Centenary Lakes to catch the last of the sun for the bridal party photos.

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Trent and Felice, it really was my pleasure! I can see that you will be very happy together and have a long and happy future ahead of you.

Below are a few photos from Trent and Felice’s special day. You can see more images at their on-line album

The Wedding of Jenny and Ross on 14th July 2009

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Jenny and Ross came all the way from Sth Australia for some warm winter weather and to be married on Four Mile beach at Port Douglas last Tuesday.

The weather was perfect with just enough breeze to keep things cool for Jenny, Ross and their friends and family who had traveled from Sth Australia and Townsville.

Kay Earl performed a lovely ceremony under the shady stand of coconut trees.

After the ceremony I took some shots of Jenny and Ross walking along the deserted beach soaking up the tropical sunshine!

Here are some of my favorites, you can also view Jenny and Ross’s album on-line.

Some family photos back under the trees and then a quick drive into town for a few more photos on the old sugar wharf before Jenny and Ross joined their guests at the Inlet Restaurant for a celebration lunch.

The Wedding of Nathania and Daniel on 12th July 2009

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Sunday afternoon saw me head back down the hill to photograph Nathania and Daniels wedding at the Cairns Colonial Club.

Nathania looked stunning and was attended by four gorgeous bridesmaids wearing black dresses. A basket full of flower petals was carried by Claudia and Timothy carried the rings.

Friends and family travel from Townsville and as far away as France to join Nathania and Daniel for their lovely ceremony at 3.30pm in the gazebo at the Colonial Club. The ceremony was performed by Graeme Cooksley. Daniels’ Grandfather. Daniels parents both read a poem along with Nathania’s father, John.

After the ceremony, all the guests gathered for a group photo with the bride and groom taken from the top floor balcony.

Some friends and family photos in the gardens and then we headed off to Centenary Lakes for bridal party photos.

Here are a couple of my favorites from Nathania and Daniels’ wedding day. For more images go to their on-line album.

The Wedding of Desarae and Joe on 12th July 2009

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Sunday morning I was up bright and early to be at Trinity Beach for pre-wedding photos with Desarae at 6.45am.

Desarae and Joe were joined by family and friends to witness their ceremony at the Southern end of Trinity beach at 8am. The weather was a bit iffy early but cleared just in time for the ceremony.

After the formalities, a flotilla of butterflies were released onto the beach. They were actually the most enthusiastic butterflies I have seen at a wedding for ages!

As the guests slowly made their way up the beach to the reception venue I took some photos of Desarae and Joe and their bridal party on the beach and around the rocks.

When we finished Desarae and Joe joined their family and friends for a delicious breakfast at my favorite restaurant, L’Unicos’ at Trinity Beach.

Here are a few of my favorites from the morning. For more photos go to Desarae and Joe’s on-line album.

The Wedding of Natalie and Rick on the 4th July 2009

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Natalie and Rick were married at Cedar Park Resort, near Kuranda, at 3pm on the 4th July.

A lovely ceremony was performed by Gina Miles in the grounds of Cedar Park surrounded by ancient World Heritage listed rainforest. After the ceremony friends and family gathered for a group photo taken from the balcony of the restaurant.

Natalie and Rick and the bridal party then headed down to the creek for some lovely photos in the rainforest. Some more photos with Ricks’ Dad’s car and then back to the Restaurant to enjoy their receception.

Below are a couple of my favorites from the day. You can view Natalie and Ricks’ on-line album to see more pics.

The Wedding of Rebecca and Talal on 3rd July 2009

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Rebecca and Tala wanted to have some rainforest photos to remember their wedding day. We went to the Barron Falls at Kuranda for some photos on the Boardwalk there.

Talal and Rebecca’s brothers and and their partners came along to join in the photo session. When we had finished we drove to Mareeba for their ceremony at St Thomas’ church.

The ceremony went very well. I really like St Thomas’s as I can get up high and take photos looking down from the balcony inside and out!

Here are a couple of my favorites from Rebecca and Talal’s wedding. To view some more images from their special day go to Rebecca and Talal’s on-line album.

The commitment ceremony of Ollie and Jess on 1st July 2009

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Ollie and Jess had a wonderful early morning ceremony on the beach at Palm Cove. The light was beautiful!

Ben Kelly was the celebrant. He picked up Ollie and Jess from home, performed a lovely ceremony, hung around while we did the photos and then delivered Jess and Ollie home again!

Ollie and Jess were up for anything and weren’t afraid to get their feet wet or clamber over the rocks for a good shot!

To see Jess and Ollie’s photos you can go to their on-line album . My favorite is them perched atop the jagged rock overlooking the ocean!

Paula and Jason’s lovely thank you note……

Monday, July 6th, 2009

I photographed Paula and Jason’s wedding on the 2nd May and then we had a fun Trash the Dress photo shoot a few days later. Yesterday I received this lovely thank you email from them………..

Hi Tracey,

We received our photo package on Thursday and all we can say is ‘Wow!’  The photo book surpasses our expectations and we can’t wait to show this and the DVD off to our family and friends. You made Jason and I both feel very special and relaxed throughout our wedding, and our guests also loved your personal touch. You took so many amazing photos it is going to be difficult to pick a favourite to enlarge. We know these stunning photos will bring back memories of an incredible day for many years to come.

Thank you for your friendly and skilful approach to our Wedding Day and also the fun of Trash the Dress, I have many girlfriends who want to slip their dress back on after seeing the Trash photos. We would unreservedly recommend you to anyone looking to get married in the Cairns area, your assistance to Jason and I organising our wedding from out of town is a testament to your professionalism.

Once again, thank you Tracey.

Kind Regards,

Paula & Jason.

The Wedding of Theona and Richard on the 27th June 2009

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Theona and Richard were married on the Esplanade, under a big shady tree, last Saturday at 3.30pm.

Theona’s getting ready went very well, she looked lovely in her dress and we were all done taking photos in no time!

I caught the lift down a few floors to see Richard and join in the fun and games of getting their two gorgeous little boys ready! Lollies are the perfect bribe item when you want a 3 year old to put on a suit! The boys looked so cute once they were all ready to go! Richard too, was looking quite handsome!

A wonderful ceremony was performed by Kay Earl and lasted for around 25 minutes. After the ceremony I took a big group photo from atop my trusty ladder of all the guests. We took some family and friends photos, then Theona and Richard and I went for a walk along the Esplanade for some fun , romantic shots of just the two of them.

The reception was held at the Mecure Harbourside with the music supplied by Port Douglas Mobile Disco.

Here are a couple of my favorites from day. Go to Theona and Richards on-line album to view more images from their special day.

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Theona and Richard, it was my pleasure!
