Jessica and Nathan’s wedding on Hamilton Island

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Jess and Nathan’s wedding on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays.
Jess and Nathan flew me from Cairns to photograph their wedding on the gorgeous tropical island. They also flew Roger Thomson up from Canberra to perform the ceremony. Roger had also married Nathan’s parents.
After the ceremony we “buggied” down to the beach where we caught some awesome sunlight for the photos. We finished off at the Marina with the sun just sinking down behind the boat masts.
What a glorious day! The weather was perfect for Jess and Nathan and their 70 or so family and friends who traveled from far and wide to share this special day. There was an overall feeling of warmth and love in the air the entire day.
Thank you Jess and Nathan for asking me to capture this wonderful day for you.
Below are a few of my favorite pics from the day. Check out Jess and Nathan’s on-line album to view the rest of their album.

Carly and Wayne’s wedding

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Carly and Wayne were married at the Mecure Harbourside Hotel on the Esplanade on the 7th March. The day before, Tropical Cyclone Hamish formed about 300kms north of Cairns! Carly and Wayne made the decision to move their ceremony inside, undercover.

Saturday morning could not have been more perfect! You would not have guessed that there was a cyclone hovering about 200kms directly east of Cairns!

Elray Schnitzerling performed a lovely ceremony at 2.30pm.

After a group photo and the friends and family photos we headed down to the Esplanade to take some shots. We had just finished some photos at the skate park when a big black scary cloud moved in and dumped quite a bit of rain on the scene! Luckily we had made it to the sanctuary of the 300C superstretch limo!

Robert drove us to The Peir where we took some more shots inside before it stopped raining and we made our way out onto the waterfront to finish the photo shoot.

Below are some of my favorite images from the day. As you can see Wayne was quite pleased with his mode of transport for the photoshoot! You may view the rest of Carly and Wayne’s album at our on-line gallery.

Thanks for asking me to be your photographer Carly and Wayne!

Best wishes for a wonderful, happy and long future together!

Adam and Yasmin

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

A few weeks ago Adam and Yasmin were married on the lush, tropical Atherton Tablelands. After a wonderful, romantic ceremony at Eden House we drove to Millaa Millaa Falls for a photo shoot with a difference!

and yes, the water was quite cold!

Adam and Yasmin have both sent me lovely emails and I wanted to share the warm and fuzzy feeling I get when I read them. Here are some of their words;

Hi Tracey,

I cant express how really really pleased I am that Adam chose you to be our photographer! We just absolutely love what you have done for us and it was more than what we could have even imagined.

All of my friends and family love what you have created and are so happy for Adam and I that we got the shots that “we” wanted. Which was exactly what this was all about. Just Adam and I. Having said that, I don’t think, no I’m fairly certain, that I will never swim in a waterfall fully clothed, with perfect hair and makeup in a dress with thongs on!! Noooo way.

So these beautiful pictures will be treasured for ever.

Thank you so so much for everything. You just put the final perfect touches to our day and it will be something we both remember for ever.

All the very best to you and Bob.

Yasmin

And from Adam;

We had a fantastic time with you..and wish you all the success and happiness for the near future.

SO FROM ME PERSONALLY THANKYOU..can not stop smiling

Thank you Adam and Yasmin for choosing me to capture your special day (it was heaps of fun!) and letting me share your images and words.

Best wishes for a long and happy future together.

Here are a couple of my favorite images from the day. You can view the rest of Adam and Yasmin’s album in our on-line gallery.

Wedding House of Cairns

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Last night Bob and I attended the Grand Opening of the Wedding House of Cairns.

A tastefully renovated big old queenslander style house is the new hub of wedding planning in Cairns.

The brainchild of Angelique Schesser of Dynamic Weddings this is the place to visit for one stop wedding planning. Angie is an experienced and professional wedding planner and can assist you with everything you need to know to plan a wedding successfully, saving you money and stress.

Upon our arrival we were offered a 5 minute massage by Corinna from Evolve Day Spas. After a day of sitting at my computer processing wedding photos I couldn’t resist! Ah……I can only recommend Corinna’s wonderful, soothing hands! Evolve Day Spas offer all sorts of Beauty and Wedding Essentials.

Angie has thought of everything. When you first enter the Wedding House of Cairns you will be attracted to Irene Costa’s spacious showroom stocked with many beautiful and exclusive wedding gowns. Irene has made hundreds of wedding gowns over the past 40 years. You will find designs from Pronovias, Alfred Angelo and Maggie Sottero.

I was amazed by the work of Rohini Zakay! Rohini’s card says “creator of handmade objects”. On display was an array of hand made invitations, place cards, paper folded flowers and other cleverly created and stunning pieces.

Parked in the driveway was the magnificent Chrysler 300c superstretch limousine owned and operated by Cairns Limousines, polished to within an inch of it’s life!

We caught up with Bradley and Za from Skysafari Helicopters. It seems brides and grooms are getting more adventurous with their wedding photo shoots. There are so many options when it comes to chopper travel…..a 12 minute flight to a desserted island on the Great Barrier Reef or a longer flight to a rainforest waterfall. For the really adventurous, combine Trash the Dress with a chopper flight to an amazing location!

Inside The Wedding House of Cairns you will also find Cassandra Bio Sculpture, Gel Nail Technician. Even the smallest details have been thought of!

Bob and I wish Angie all the best with her new venture. The Wedding House of Cairns will be a huge success!
