Lauren and Stuart’s wedding at Palm Cove

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Lauren and Stuart could not have asked for a more perfect day for their wedding on Saturday. In the weeks leading up to their big day we have had about half a metre of rain here in Cairns. By Saturday afternoon there was not a rain cloud in sight, the sky was blue and the ocean was flat with only a light 10KT breeze.

Lauren and Stuart exchanged vows on Palm Cove beach in front of their friends and relatives, some of whom had traveled from the Gold Coast for this special day.

After the ceremony we headed down to Palm Cove jetty for the photo shoot. The bright red convertible made for some great shots on the boat ramp.

Below are just a few of my favorite images from the day. You may view their entire album at our on-line albums page.

Congratulations Lauren and Stuart!

Phil and Lyndell’s wedding on Vlassoff Cay

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

We had arranged to meet at the GBR Helicopters office at the Pier at 8am on Monday morning to depart at 8.30 for Phil and Lyndell’s romantic ceremony on Vlassoff Cay on the Great Barrier Reef. Sunday night we received over 100mm of rain in Cairns. At 7am it was still raining! By 8.30 the rain had contracted to the North, we boarded the chopper and headed out to the Cay, with Pete as our pilot.

The white sandy island stood out amongst the luminous blue green water of the Reef as we approached from the west at 500FT.  We touched down and clambered out of the chopper. Just the 4 of us in the middle of this stunning part of the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef.

Pete was delegated “Best Man” and ring bearer and we both happily acted as witnesses. Phil and Lyndell became husband and wife as Kay Earl performed a wonderfully romantic and very personal ceremony.

Some photos on the Cay and a delicious picnic prepared by GBR Helicopters, then Pete and I left them on the Cay for some aerial shots.

Everyone re boarded the chopper and Pete ferried us safely back to the Marina with a very informative tour of the area along the way.

Congratulations Phil and Lyndell and thanks for letting me share your very special day.

Here are a couple of my favorite images from the day. You can view their entire album at our on-line albums page.

I love being a wedding photographer!

These photos were taken by Kay Earl, the wedding celebrant at Monday’s wedding of Phil and Lyndell on Vlassoff Cay on the Great Barrier Reef.
